Sounds like a good idea!
I have just made Tunico the co-moderator of the group with full capacity except
for deleting the group.
Tim Mellor is another full capacity moderator in Australia (Tim has been
moderating the group for a few years. I have contacted Tim privately and Tim has
offered to continue co-moderating the group).
This way, we'll have 2 co-moderator with full capacity in 2 different continents
managing the group.
I am removing myself as the owner and moderator of the group. After this
message, the group will have no owner and therefore cannot be deleted.
For the group, there are mainly 2 types of work: moderation work and promotion
work.
Basic moderation work is minimum and promotion work requires more effort;
however, we have not promoted the group for years.
Congratulation and thanks Tim and Tunico for keeping the legend alive.
P.S., I will also change the ksurfschool and the cankitesurf groups to historic
status (this means that it will be available for references but no more post)
P.P.S., I like the idea of transfering the group to a forum (with all the
existing contents). Just wondering why Yahoo haven't done it yet for all the
legends they have?
Thanks guys and I will still be kiting until 75. Watch out for a 125 lbs,
"alien" kiter who may be showing up at your local beach "one of these days" !!!

I will likely be busy for a while on some new projects.
I won't have time to manage these groups anymore but I still want to
have these kitesurf legends continue.
Anyone want to take over the management of the group (Tim for the
kitesurf group and anyone else for the other groups) ?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Hung.
Thanks Chris for all the help over the year.

For several years I have been helping Hung Vu by moderating this
group. I have lost interest now that the spam way outnumbers the real
posts. And frankly the Yahoo Groups format is not as good as the php
based discussion forums. I believe tha skypilotkiteboarding.com is
running some regional canadian forums and there may be others.
Anyway, I am removing myself as moderator and wont be following this
group anymore. Good kiteboarding to all.

Generally, I am a very bad "green guy" (I consume more

Actually you're right Stan that would be a good kite. It's gonna see
action one more time down in Hatteras next month, cuz a friend of
mine needs it. After that it's up for sale, damn cheap too. It has a
matching 21m that could be had for seriously next to nothing.

I am researching for some wind power project and found this from the US
(which give more or less the info of where to kite in the US):
http://www.eere.energy.gov/windandhydro/windpoweringamerica/wind_maps.asp
What is the equivalent info in Canada and the rest of the world?
Kite energy??? Is it a reality???
Hung.
Hello all,
Quick introduction as I'm new to this group. I'm 31, married (1
daughter) and started kiting one year ago as a result of an
anniversary gift (kite lesson with hung).
During the winter I've been kiting at Petrie Islands (in the east end)
on my 9m Waroo. I'm completely novice in water. The 9m waroo is my
only kite thusfar.
With summer approaching I'm thinking about buying another kite. My
question to all of you more experienced summer kiters is therefore:
Considering Ottawa's winds in summer what size kite(s) is most
practical (and would get used most often).
Finances are always an issue :-) and I realize that while a 4 kite
quiver might be most ideal...it's just not in the cards. I'm looking
for something to complete my 9 with something that would get a lot of
use in summer.
Thanks so much,
Emiel

I asked myself this question last night and decide to figure it out
using the Kitesurfing Search Engines (including more than 500
kitesurfing sites) at http://kitesurfingschool.org/search.htm
If your site is not on the Kitesurfing Search Engine, please let me know
(just do a search on the site to see whether it has already been included).
So I just type in the name of the site to figure out how popular it is:
kitesurfingschool.org, kite-surf.com, kiteforum.com, naishkites.com,
bestkiteboarding.com, northkites.com, etc.
kitesurfingschool.org: 5 pages

Please verify whether these numbers are correct and let me know any
sites we should remove from or add to the Kitesurfing Search Engine.
Please add more...
Thanks,

Well, that's what we thought last January due to the extremely warm
"global warming winter".
The winter has became more stable since early Feb and NCC contacted us
for some emergency arrangements to have the 2007 Winterlude Kite
Demonstration event this week-end (the closing week-end of this year
Winterlude).
The weather will be nice, windy and there should lots of people
(hundreds of thousands).
2005 Winterlude Kite event is at
http://kitesurfingschool.org/Winterlude/Winterlude.htm
2006 Winterlude Kite event is at
http://kitesurfingschool.org/Winterlude2006/Winterlude.htm
And watch this link over the week-end for the 2007 Winterlude Kite
event: http://kitesurfingschool.org/Winterlude2007/Winterlude.htm
Hung.
The Bularoo came out to late for us to try it on the water .. should be the
same as a standard 07 Waroo with a bit quicker turning and less lift .. I
was on one at the Minnesota kite fest .. the 10m, it sits a little farther
back in the window and had about the same grunt on the low end as my Waroo
pro 11
Cheers

I went out in a blizzard today with the Waroo 5m.
Made a jump, crashed and when I looked for the kite, it was straight
down wind and started climbing up across the power zone. I quickly let
go of the bar and expected the kite to pull me somewhat. Nothing! The
kite just sort of "moved" across the power zone and barely pulled me
even 1 inch.
Now that is depowering and I assumed all other flat kites, SLE, bow,
etc. are similar.
With such depowering capacity I would assume that once one learns how to
"let go of the bar", accident would be drastically reduced?
Hung.
I have updated the home page of http://kitesurfingschool.org and the
Link page http://kitesurfingschool.org/kitesurfinglinks.htm and the
School page http://kitesurfingschool.org/schools.htm to have a link
preview feature from Snap.
Go to any one of those pages and move your mouse over any link on the
page, a pre-view of the linked web site will be shown.
This way, you can briefly pre-view all the kitesurfing links posted
there before hitting on the link.
Enjoy,
Hung.
For the Kitesurfing Search Engine, I have included more than 500
kitesurfing related sites including all the leading manufacturers,
information and discussion sites, forums, all the schools listed in
Kitesurfingschool.org School section, all the kitesurfing related links
listed in kitesurfingschool.org Links section, etc. (some event in
French, try to search for "actualites"). Please let me know of any
additional sites you may want to include in the Kitesurfing Search
Engine (just search for the site to check whether it has been included).
The Kitesurfing Search Engine search box can be found at the top left of
all pages of http://kitesurfingschool.org or at the Kitesurfing Search
Engine page itself at http://kitesurfingschool.org/search.htm
P.S., Ofcourse, the benefit of a custom Kitesurfing Search Engine is
that you can enter search phrases such as "torch review", "vegas review"
and get relevant info (try those searches on the main search engines and
the Kitesurfing Search engine and compare the results ;-)
P.P.S., If you have a web site and want to add the Kitesurfing Search
Engine to your site, just add the following HTML code where you want the
search box to be on your page:

For those of you that might be new to kiting and for those of you that
have never been on a hobiecat, here's a perspective of kite to
windsurfer, to hobiecat that you might find interesting. When you've
got good winds, and money need I say more. Thanks to Byron for sending
me this one.
