A week on Sunday (March 30th, 7pm) is the AGM and to encourage more people
to turn up we have negotiated a special deal for a social event at Chutney
Joe's straight after the meeting finishes.
£10 per head gets:
- Popadoms & pickles
- 1 x starter (choices include Bhajee, Samosas, chicken tikka, sag aloo)
- 1 x main course (choices include Tandoor chicken, Chicken Tikka masala,
Shashlik, Madras, Dansak, Korma and Jalfrezi)
- 1 x Pilau rice or 1 x naan bread
Please note that to make it fair on non-drinkers and drivers, all drinks
will be charged to individuals at the bar and not split at the end. I
think its an excellent deal and a great way to start off the season.
Please do make the effort to turn up - the AGM itself will be as short as
possible, lasting no more than an hour with a variety of speakers
presenting lots of exciting new developments in the club. To keep people
from falling asleep, Mark has even volunteered to forgo his usual
"constitution changes" slot. There will be a chance for questions but the
meeting will essentially be a presentation to club members.
On a side note, we seem to be missing one of the club's scorebooks from
last season so can you please have a look in your kitbags to see if its
there as its an important record of the club's history.
In addition, outdoor training has begun on Saturday mornings from 9.30am
at the ground in Lower Cambourne and will last from now until the season
begins, when we will revert to the usually slot on Wednesday evenings.
This will be more structured than our training in 2007 and will help
improve faculties such as fitness, balance and decision making as well as
the usual drills you might expect. This is in addition to the usual net
sessions at Hills Road that are still running on Tuesday nights 8pm - 9pm.
Regards
Stuart
