Winter Nets 2009/2010   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #183 of 189 |
The summer may be nearly over but the club is already looking forward to another successful season in 2010. Tonight will be the last official outdoor training session but in less than a months time our winter net programme will begin which will keep us in the best possible shape over the close season ready for another drive for promotion next year. As per last winter, the nets will be held at the world class training centre at Fenners (just off Hills Road in Cambridge), which boasts 3 nets and a bowling machine. We haven't yet decided on how much it will be per person but it will certainly be more than last year as we have no funding in place and will have to cover the full hire cost.
  • Tuesday nights 8-9pm from 6th October - 15th December 2009
  • Thursdays 7-9pm from 7th January - 25th February 2010
  • Saturday Mornings 11am - 1pm March 6th - April 10th 2010
Sam Miller's Dad's vs Lads teams have now been filled but if you are around on Saturday please do make the effort to pop down to the ground to buy a cake and a raffle ticket or 5. It should be a fun game of cricket with the friendly rivalry of Dad vs Son spicing up the competitive spirit.

Callum is also orgainising a team for Sunday's social game vs the Monkfield Arms and there are still places available, contact him on c.healy@... if you would like to be included.

Another date for your diary is Friday 11th December when Callum has organised the club's official senior awards night and Christmas social at the Monkfield Arms. He has negotiated a fantastic deal with the landlord Duncan, £10 per person including food and 3 drinks. He's also looking to organise an outdoor shooting event (i.e. Paintballig!) around the same time of year so look out for more details soon.

Regards

Stuart Charles
