Head Coach Mark Tandy has organised a coaching evening
next Tuesday the 1st September, 8pm at the pavilion, for all those members who have expressed an interest in becoming a grade 1 or 2 coach. The idea is that Mark can explain what is involved and when the dates are so we can go ahead and book places over the winter months. Anyone interested is welcome and encouraged to attend as the more qualified coaches at the club, the better we will become and it is of course mandatory to have a good ratio of coaches to members to ensure we retain Clubmark status. In return you will gain a formal qualification (looks good on the CV to anyone thinking of choosing a sport related career path), learn new skills and give something back to the club as well as giving you the opportunity to become a better cricketer. Speak to Mark directly on 07949 839727 or
mark.tandy@... for more information.
Other events coming up in the next few weeks:
- 7 a side tournament at Royston on Bank Holiday Monday. Entry is £7 per person (no concessions), and there is a cash prize for the winning team. Contact me if you are interested.
- Saturday 12th September - "Dads vs Lads" match, and an opportunity to raise money for a school Sam Miller is visiting in Mozambique. More details to follow soon.
- Sunday 13th September - Friendly match vs The Monkfield Arms (and most likely an informal social event afterwards). Contact Callum Healy for more information.
- Sunday 20th September - "Upstarts Vs Old Farts", a chance for those over 30 to prove that youth is no match for experience and a nice way to round off another excellent season of cricket in Cambourne.
Regards
