Oh very funny it was dark and raining at the time. Glad after TWO years
we can still laugh about it. Charlie also thought it was a queue
although he was pissed at the time. But it didn't raise such a laugh as
the curly wurly shout.

Jason,

I have made some enquiries into this issue and will hopefully have
an answer this week. It doesn't really cause us a problem I don't
think, because we could actually play on the Friday night or early
KO on the Saturday. As soon as I have this information, then I will
post it on here.

All the very best,

Jon Pritch

Jon,
welcome to the forum and thanks for your message.
Just one thing regarding the Wrexham friendly on Aug 18th.
I have read somewhere that the WRU have ststed that no games can take
place on that day between 1pm and 4pm because of the international at
the MS. Does this call off the friendly?
Cheers
Jason

Dear All,

As you may well know there have been lots of developments on and off
the pitch at Virginia Park over the last few months and I thought I
would take this opportunity to let you all know what is going on
with signings, coaches and pre season.

Players In:

Sam Feehan No 8 Glamorgan Wanderers
Randall Bowen 2R / No 8 Clifton / Formely Neath
Chris Payne 2R Newbridge (Newbridge Captain last season)
Gareth 'Milo' Miles Centre Ebbw Vale
Huw Lock 15 / 10 Bedwas
Gareth Davies Hooker Bedwas
John Beddow Winger / Centre UWIC
Mike Silcox Winger Bedwas
Rob Phillips No 9 Bedwas

Players Out:

Ian Jenkins (Jenko) Bargoed
Tommy Guy Beddau (apparently)
Grant Robson (TBC)

Coach:
We have recently assigned a new squad forwards coach for the
forthcoming season and I am sure you will all join me in giving Ian
Greenslade a very warm welcome to the club. Ian is very well known
amongst the rugby world for his playing days at Bridgend and brings
with him a wealth of knowledge.

Chris Ferris has decided to commit himself fully to the playing side
of things this year and I am sure that everyone at the club will be
fully behind him. I have no doubt that he will be giving some advice
to his old team mate and new coach Compo somewhere along the way and
will remain a true and committed asset of Caerphilly RFC.

Team Bonding Weekend:
Some of the squad attended a team bonding camping weekend last
weekend in West Wales and thoroughlly enjoyed themselves. It was a
pleasure to take such a great group of lads away for the weekend.

Pre-season:
Pre-season training has already started and with 30+ turning out for
each session, the future looks very bright indeed. Training takes
place on Tuesday and Thursday down the club and normally starts
around 6.45pm, we welcome support of any kind.

A preseason match against Wrexham has been scheduled for the 18th
August 2007 and another match against Bridgend Athletic will take
place the following Thursday Evening. We are still trying to confirm
another friendly slightly earlier than these two games, but this
information will be confirmed as soon as I know all the details.

We look forward to the fast approching season with open minds and
hopefully with all the hard work that has been put in over the past
few months, we won't do too badly this year.

If anyone has any questions then please do not hesitate to e-mail me
or just post them on here and I will do my best to answer them the
best I can within reason.

Many thanks,

Jonathan Pritchard - 1st Team Manager

Bloody ridiculous, you win your league but can't get promoted because
you ground is SHIT!.

That is the most stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Have the twats down the WRU ever heard of ground sharing?

Apparently the percentage was changed in the week from 51% to 75% so
going by that Bon-y-maen would have been promoted. But once again
the 'powers that be' move the posts in they're favour.

All I can say is FUCK them. They put the biggest prick ever in charge
of the national team, run the league system into the ground, deny
teams to better themselves, that is unless your part of the little
click of teams e.g. Cardiff, Llanelli, Newport, Swansea and Neath,
also known as the Ospreys, LLANELLI Scarlets, NEWPORT Gwent Dragons,
& CARDIFF Blues.

Anyhow back to work.

Hey all I know I don't post that often but here's a little message.

The meeting down the club with Gordon and the coaches was very open,
honest and intriguing.

Hopefully what they said will come true and we will have a better
league campaign than last year.

I do feel that as supporters WE should make more of an effort to
attend the club more. Especially during the close season and even
during the season. At least this way the club will have a more
homely feel, the 'old' buzz will be back. There is a quizz every
Thursday, a Disco every Sat so there are things happening. You can
also get info about signings, fixtures etc.

Mr Jason quality pic, hopefully Neil will see this lol.

Anyhow gotta go.

The meeting at the club the other week said that Meadsy will be
playing for us next season, but apparantly our neighbours down the
road (bedwas) are after him. Personally i hope he stays.

Paul,
the picture is from a school in Builth Wells. When we played them the
season before last, me and james were stood with another Caer fan, who
hasnt registered yet but im sure he will, and he asked this
question "what are those people queuing for?"
And as you can see they are paintings on the wall hahahahaha
At the time i didnt have a camera on me so one day i was on my way to
Llandrindod Wells and made a short tour to take the picture.
Well i think its funny and me and James laughed like f$%k...

There is, inevitably, a lot of rumours about who is leaving, coming
to the club etc, as there always is.
But to get the actually truth...according to the website there is a
meeting tomorrow (tuesday 19th June) down the club to let us know
what is going on. So get yourself down there and have a listen....

I have heard we have signed speedy from Bedwas and Chris Payne the
second row and captain of Newbridge. It would be great news if we have
signed Silky aswell as he is a very good player.I also think an
additional hooker is needed.

I have heard that we have signed a few and kept 90% of last years
squad, but i think the coaching staff are abit weary about telling us
how these players are because it may affect any other recruitment,
which in a way i suppose is a good idea. I was told that we have signed
a hooker and also that Silky has resigned for us!

So there is to be an EGM of the member clubs over the non promotion of
Beddau and Bon y maen to the premiership.
Personally i think they should both go up after all they have won their
division and deserve to. And i also think that Caerphilly RFC should
stand behind both of these clubs and support them in their fight for
what they deserve........promotion!!!!!!!
