On Sat 6th September we will start our league campaign at home against..... .......NEWBRIDGE
Thats probably the best place for news cos theres no point in looking
here......why looking at the messageboard for the club????
Also what happened to a presentation evening this year????

and its all over for another year.....but what a great year pity we
couldnt seal it with promotion!!! The players have done them selves
proud and are a credit to the club. Personally i dont think i can
pick a player of the year there have been a few.
I think one of the deciding weeks of the season was us beating UWIC
at cyncoed....while pooler were getting an injusy time penalty try to
beat Barg at Bargoed.......then us losing at home to Blackwood the
following tuesday.....why we didnt rearrange that fixture for after
the Llanharan game i dont know???
Would be nice to know how many players turned up to that meeting last
night, and how many have pledged themselves to us for next
season.....i think if we had the same squad next year then we would
be pushing for it again......the only problem being the stupid
playoffs the wru have imposed to keep their favourites in the
premiership......but i think thats a different topic..
Anyway to all the players that read the message board well done and
thanks for a great season.....i hope you stay with us for next year!!!
Finally.....On the 25th of this month its the fifth anniversary of
our glorious (but historical) defeat to Castres in Reading....does
anyone know if the club are doing anything to commemorate it?
Congratulations to the players, commitee, back room staff and of
course shorts, or is it shirts lol.
Its been a great year, much better than previous, if we can keep this
squad together we are gona dominate this league next season and if the
WRU let us we WILL no question of a doubt go up.
Will see you all there tomorrow other than Dad who's going to Cornwall
to walk the dog.
My player of the season is between Petit & Charlie.
Ickle James
I hope we can retain all of this seasons squad because they have been
exellent all season and have done the supporters proud.
Who ever has been picked to play and the ones which have come in to
cover injuries have done outstanding.I think Minty has been the player
of the season with too many to name close behind him.
I'm going to miss last game too. Daughter's birthday party - could have
waited a week - but no. Been a great season. If only we could draw the
crowds like 'pooler!
Is it your birthday tomorrow then?
Looking forward to next season . Grand Slam and Promotion. Putting money
away in piggy bank for Season ticket

I'd just like to say you don't have to worry because "I'm staying" I
had an offer to go and support Bedwas but the money wasn't enough.
Unfortunately I will be missing from the last game of the season
(Llanharan) I have to go to cornwall for a week ,tried to put her in
doors off for a week but she was having none of it ..
SO WELL DONE TO ONE AND ALL ON AN EXCELLENT SEASON COULDN'T HAVE ASKED
FOR MORE, COACHES, TRAINING STAFF, PLAYERS ,SUPPORTERS AND SHIRTS!!
100% GIVEN. AND FOR ME "RHYS OPENSIDE WATKINS" HAS TO BE PLAYER OF
THE SEASON, GIVEN EVERYTHING IN EVERY GAME.
It is a two point lead over Pooler....as for quick ball from scrum
half.......lets put it this way.....its good to see MR Phillips on
the bench this week. We need to get the ball out quickly to the
backs, over the last couple of games its been toooooo slow, and the
TAXI ball makes me sick!!!!
We need to win tomorrow and hope other teams do us a favour....but
lets be honest second would be amazing...and if we can keep all the
players we will have a huge chance of winning it next season.....so
anybody know if anyone is staying with us next year??

Lets get a win, I can't see us getting bonus points but hopefully we can prevent them from losing by less than 7.
It's been a great season regardless if we go up or stay in this league.
Well good luck to the boys Sat, this is the big one.
Lets get a win, I can't see us getting bonus points but hopefully we
can prevent them from losing by less than 7.
It's been a great season regardless if we go up or stay in this league.

Sorry to hear phil is leaving I think it shows what a good job he has
done for him to be poached by our so nice near neighbours so good luck
to him for the future.
I remember watching Mathew Lloyd playing for ponty always a bit of
bruiser so that will do us no harm at all to have someone like him on
board.
WELL DONE TO ALL THE BOYS ON SATURDAYS WIN ,DONE ALL WE NEEDED TO DO
WIN AND A BONUS POINT.DIDN'T REALLY MATTER HOW CLOSE A WIN AS LONG AS
WE WON .
I have to say well done also to Gorden Prichard,(and Mathew Back)
because every week I look at the opposition backs and say GOD THEY ARE
BIG but every week he gets our boys doing what WE do best and it works.
Exellent win today and still unbeaten away in the league.Pleased to get
the win but if we took our chances the bonus point was easily in
reach.Great defence today and our pack dominated for long periods of
the game.It was great to see John Griffiths pick up their massive prop
and drive him back five yards and dump him on his backside. The whole
squad done us proud today and have all season.
Come on Caer.
Well now it is a two horse race after an excellant win up at the windy
park, I have too say a big well done to all the lads, Solid defence in
the first half with some game winning scramble defence and good tactics
and use of the wind in the second half .
Well it's been a fantastic season to previous years, regardless where
we finish.
It would be great to get promoted, but I think our lack of bonus point
wins and the defeat to Blackwood, has put Pooler in the driving the
seat for top spot,it's Poolers title to lose now!
Can't make it for Sat so good luck for the weekend, hopefully we will?!
Ickle James
What an interesting few weeks we have had and an interesting few to
come.
The turning points of the season.....injury time penalty try for Pooler
against Bargoed....giving them a win while we won at UWIC.....then
Blackwood turning us over at VP on the Tuesday night.
We have to play 3 of the top 5 in our last four games.....Bargoed and
Llanharan both away and Newbridge and Pooler at VP. If we have any
chance of winning the title and promotion......personally i think we
have to win all four with the bonus points. Meanwhile, Pontypool have
to play us and then i think it is the bottom 5 teams of the division.
So technically they have the easier run in and i think that the title
is theirs to lose.....but i do so hope we pip them to it.
But it has been a great season.......and lets hope that we can keep all
the players here for next season...whether we go up or not.
COME ON CAER!!!!!

Sorry about the maths I think my brain has haddled after years of
watching games like the one this afternoon, So poor that I was happy
to hear the whistle to end it.
Our decision making sometimes really lets us down this side had a
hard working pack and not much else so what did we do all game ??
Let them work hard on us !!! they should have been running all over
that pitch looking for the ball.Right tactic's first half but way off
in the second ,We played into thier game plan.

Pooler only got two games in hand so a maximum of ten points would put
them on 68.
The run in to the end of the season is on us now and we have to win all
games and not worry about other results ,That said Bargoed and
Blackwood are going to be behind us till the end It's pooler who are
going to take us, Unless they slip up so we just have to get the wins
and let the pressure build on them and take it off US !!!!
SEE YOU ALL AT A WET AND I EXPECT MUDDY MAES GLAS....
CAER PLAYED 17 62 POINTS
BARGOED PLAYED 14 47 POINTS +15(MAYBE) = 62
BLACKWOOD PLAYED 14 46 POINTS +15 (MAYBE)= 61
POOLER PLAYED 15 58 POINTS +15(MAYBE)=73
Yeah good luck for tomorrow as its a tricky tie and they are desperate
for points so that makes the task even harder.Lets hope we can regroup
and battle on as they have done so well all season to let the hard work
slip now.We have got the hardest run in of games out of all the teams
up the top and need Newbridge to do us a favour against Pooler.
Come on Caer.
Good luck to the boys for tomorrow, I think were gona need alot of it
from now till the end of the season.
Hopefully Pooler will slip up somewhere along the way, although I
think Bargoed are the ones who are in control of the league now; but
we need to win from now on and win with bonus points.
Hopefully we can take top spot but we have 3 massive games against
Bargoed, Newbridge and Pooler along with 2 potential slip ups at
Sarries and Llanharan.
Anyway good luck, it's been a great season much better than previous.
Ickle James
When we played them earlier in the season at VP, that was supposed to
be played at Newport Saracens. At that time they didnt have a home
ground.....so all i can gather is that we swapped fixtures!
