just a short message to the coaching team in respect of
goalkicking.the substitute outside half missed a conversion on
saturday and i am led to believe he missed a few in previous weeks.
now i am no kicking guru a la jenkins or alred but with modern
television where the camera is positioned low down directly behind the
ball it is obvious that with the technique of placing the ball forward
on the tee it must be aiming at the target. before he took his kick i
commented that he was aiming a good 5 yards left of the posts and that
is almost exactly where it ended up.i appreciate you have to make a
slight allowance for a breeze but it went where i said it would go. it
may be worth looking at this as missing kicks could be very costly and
it may be that someone just needs to work on his alignement in
training. only a small point but it was extremely obvious from
directly behind in the stand.
