Jim, I found the suit too cold when I was not doing any physical exertion for a period of time, like in later afternoon when I was schlogging along in light winds.  Otherwise, it was fine.
I did not wear any cloths underneath, except for boxer shorts. HOLY SHIT! are you nuts? The Drysuit itself has no isolation. I find Under Armor & Fleece the best this time of year They got wet because I had to re rig with the drysuit on because of the lost mast cap.  During this rerigging, I was actually hot and sweating. Put on the UA & Fleece maybe a jacket. Rig, set stuff by water go back get into the OR suit, booties, Hood & Gloves if nessary. THEN GO SAILING  While sailing, I was just fine.  When the winds calmed down later, I sailed to PT point and back, and that is when I started to cool down too much. The Above procedure should help here too!

I never was gasping for air, but when it came time to take it off, yes it was a bit scary.  Yeah I should have put in my reasons for not getting the neck off 2 more points 1) PANIC & 2) Inexperience getting into & out of DrysuitsWhen I couldn't get my neck out, I went into my car, started it up, turned on the hot air, and tried to warm up.  After that, I gave it another shot and, with difficulty, it worked, I got out.  A tough undertaking, especially for the first time.  I probably was a combination of too cold and too tired.  After being in my car, I had enough strength and will to pull it off without destroying it.You handled it perfectly OR another idea is ask for help from spectators.   Thank God.  Maybe I should bring my baby powder next time? Baby Powder is ESSENTIAL to getting into the suit easily BUT does not help getting out particularly when any part is wet. Wet Baby powder has an adhesive quality. It is a DRY lubricant.
