| Dear Baltimore/Washington DC area Windsurfer: New updates now include 17 Beginner Friendly Launches. Check it out at http://www.windsurfresource.com/beginner%27s_corner.htm and scroll down to see the list of 17 launches, in order of relevance to the Baltimore/Washington DC area windsurfer. Click on one of the launches, and a detailed description of that launch will open up, with photos and all. Complete descriptions are presently available for 13 out of the 17 launches. I have yet to provide descriptions on some of the NJ launches. 3 of the 17 beginner friendly launches are within a one hour drive from Baltimore and Washington, DC. The remainder are from 1 to 6 hour drive throughout NJ, DE, MD and VA. Having had great difficulty finding beginner friendly launches, I decided to produce this resource. Also, from having talked to many windsurfers out in the field, including experienced windsurfers, they all seem to agree that such a compilation would be an asset to the sport. So check it out! Windsurf Resource Beginner friendly launches are generally launches that are somewhat shallow, and are not presented with a lot of hazards or obstacles. I hope that this compilation of launches will be helpful and useful to both experienced windsurfers and those newbies looking to strike out on their own. |
