Re: [bw_windsurfing] Re: Sailing in Washington

Thanks for the info about difficulties launching from Washington Sailing
Marina.
The main issue for me in this case is windsurfing within the waters of the
District of Columbia.
I have limited familiarity with the DC area. Is there a better place than
Washington Sailing Marina that is within the waters of DC?

If I can't find someone willing to sail with me May 6th and willing to rent
a longboard and full rig to me, it won't matter.
I'm willing to rent and sail by myself. I figure a private party not used
to renting out personal equipment would be more comfortable sailing with me.

So I need to find someone with two longboards (or who can borrow one from a
friend) willing to brave the traffic and the Potomac.
And we need favorable wind speed and direction. I'm hoping for 10 to 15 mph
and from a southerly direction. Even if the wind does not allow sailing
where I want to, I'd still like to go. Windsurfing in the area between the
marina and the airport would be more fun than sailing a Sunfish.

My last chance to get email before flying to DC is late this Friday. A
message could be left for me at Hotel Harrington (202) 628-8140. I'll get
there about 5:00 pm on Saturday.
