I always thought Maria B looked like somebody but I couldn't put my finger
on it. But it clicked the other night when I was watching ER. She looks so
much like Rebbeca DeMornay. Just thought I'd share it with everyone!

Hey everyone, its Tony Wheeler and I am just informing you that I have a new
e-mail address that I want to use only for the fan club, and it is:
ButyrskayaDotOrg@...
(I know, very original!!)
Anyways, about the fan club, I am still taking requests for fan club names
and questions to ask Masha, so please feel free to add your ideas.
Also, if you have not noticed, Will F. purchased the web domain
http://www.butyrskaya.org (now you know where I got the name) and the fan
club should be up and running shortly, and we have all agreed that $20 is a
fair price for a photo, newsletter, and tape compilation, so that will be the
official U.S. price.
One more thing, please if you have AOL Instant Messenger and/or ICQ, please
contact me with your names since I would like to contact all of you
one-on-one and not have to wait forever with e-mails.
Thanks,
Tony Wheeler
For those that have emailed me recently or were wondering where
I've been, I've recently had some problems with going on the
Internet. I've gone back on campus, classes have started again,
so my time online has been severly diminished. I also do not
have internet access in my room, and due to the recent snowstorm
was unable to get to a computer for three days last week. Very
frustrating. But I should be around more next week.
Kate--hope your birthday was fabulous, despite the work you had
to do.
I'm looking for a copy of the artistic programs from World Pros,
broadcast last night on NBC. Since I attended the event, I really
don't want to have to miss it. I saw the ladies, which was to me
the most boring of events, since the winner was predetermined
anyway. But that would open up a whole other can of worms, so I
won't discuss that further.
I also have a bit of a problem with my website. I had been moving
the site from Angelfire because of the ads. However, one of the
two places I put some of my pages, Redrival, has been going offline
far too much recently and the other one, Topcities, has just
announced that they will be enbedding ads at the top of the page
as well. I really do not want to have these ads at the top of my
site, as they slow download time immensely and take away from the
site in my opinion, but I have no idea what to do. I cannot afford
to go to a pay site--all of my money goes towards tuition, books,
and my trip to Moscow. Xoom does not really work for me, either,
as some have suggested I use in the past. If anyone has any ideas,
please email me.
Sorry to be so off-topic today, but it seems like very little news
on Maria has come through recently, from what I can tell.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hi!
is there anyone going to Worlds?
If so do you think you could give Maria a card I'm painting when your at worlds
for me?Sorry to be so brash in saying it,I'm in a bit of a hurry.I'd be really
grateful, because I won't be there again this year.
Thanks so much,
Elizabeth
Since we are starting a fan club I thought we should maybe name it
something. This is what I came up with, Maria's Mod Squad or Masha Pit. Get
it. Some one let me know if ya like the names. Maybe we should pick some
names then vote on it.

These are my questions.
1) Since you design your own costumes do you draw and paint youself?
2) Would you ever take a vacation in Miami or Naples, Florida USA.
3) Do you plan on communicating with us through our fan club now?

Oh, she's hung on to a bunch of wobbly ones. I was talking about clean
flips. :)

That many are skating at Euros? I thought that the
short program elimination was only used at Worlds
because of the volume. I had no idea that many would
compete a Euros. Lean something new everyday!

I have noticed that her choreography in Swan Lake has
her coming at the jump a little quicker this season.
If we remeber in previous season's, it was a little
farther down the ice near the center. Now it is
coming a little past mid-rink. I think she is just
rushing it. This causes her to pick in a bit off, she
tilts backwards a little bit and can't hold it
together. She needs to a bit more cautious with the
entrance and focus on her technique, it seems to be
escaping her. The loop, which has been her best
triple is slipping as well. She needs to get quicker
rotation in the air. This season, the one triple she
has done very well is the lutz.

I was also just wondering about Maria's triple flip. I don't remember her
having such problems with it before this year. In fact I think it used to
be almost as consistent as her triple loop. Has anyone out there who is
knowledgeable about jump technique noticed a basic flaw in her technique on
the flip?
Regards,
Elliot

I had to go back and look at my notes to be sure, but I've noticed that
too. Just based on what I've seen (and since I haven't seen either the
Japan Open or Russian Nationals so I don't know what happened there) but
I've only seen one really clean triple flip.

Just wanted to let you folk know, I got the Aria CD that has Maria's
Habanera music on it. It's a really good CD overall, and the rendition of
the Habanera on it is the real deal. Great stuff, I recommend it.

I have also noticed that Maria is not very consistent on her triple flip.
She did land a clean one at NHK, and at Russian nationals in her LP she only
fell once - so maybe she landed the triple flip there too. I am confident
that she will be on top of her game at Euros.
Go Maria!

4 more ladies (or something like that) are knocked off
after the short as well.

That's all I was wondering. I still think the way they arranged the GPF
was a really poor way to go about it.
This is standard format, qualyfing rounds are a free
skate, but it does not have to be a different one and
are used to place ladies for the short. No one is
eliminated after the short program, only after
qualifying.
