Wendy King received the 2008 Small Business Leader of the Year Award
from the Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce for outstanding leadership
in the community. The organization's mission is to enhance the
marketability and profitability of members and to be the voice of
business.

Through the Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce, King chairs Leadership
Coral Springs, a seven-month program that offers a curriculum to
develop community leaders. Members learn how the city operates, and
King works with a day captain to organize tours of its various
departments and facilities.

"It's almost like a backstage pass to the city, behind the scenes and
learning the ins and outs," King said.
