TEENS RULE JK-M SERTOMA 5K

Tyler Jones (19) and Sarah Simonetti (18) won the Johnny King-Marino Sertoma 5K
on May 13th. Tyler, a graduate of Central Bucks West H.S., finished first with
a time of 15:36, while Sarah, out of Pennridge H.S., won the women's race in
19:24. The evening race drew the largest crowd of the year for the Panera Bread
Bucks 5k Series, with 692 registered runners. Check out the video on our
website to get a flavor of the crowd's energy and excitement.

The course was a new one for a new partnership between Johnny King-Marino and
the Sertoma club. Sertoma provides benefits for folks with speech, hearing, and
communications impairments. The race started and ended at the Freight House
restaurant next to the Doylestown train station. The post race festivities
included a pasta dinner and a complimentary drink, courtesy of the Freight
House.

Greg Wetzel (Doylestown), Tyler's former high school coach, finished second in
15:43. Todd Wiley (Doylestown) was third with a time of 16:07. On the women's
side, Nancy Smith (New Britain) was second in 20:02, followed by Elizabeth Moss
(Hoboken NJ) in 20:26. The race was fast and competitive and 44 runners
finished under 20 minutes.

Nancy Smith had the highest age-graded rating of all of the runners – 86.6%.
She won the masters female age-graded competition. Second was Lynda Terry
(Chalfont) with a rating of 79.4% and a time of 23:20. Elizabeth Moss had a
rating of 77.4% to go with her finishing time of 20:26.

Jay Miers (Langhorne) was the masters male age-graded champion with a rating of
83.6% and a time of 17:47. He was followed by Scott Brockett (Bensalem) with
82.5% and 17:11. Third went to Mark Lorello (Budd Lake NJ) with a rating of
81.4 % and a time of 17:42.

The age group competition was fierce. One example was the male 45-49. Scott
Brockett (17:11), Mark Lorello (17:42) and Carl Goldschmidt (17:43) were
separated by only 32 seconds. For all of the results, check out
www.bucks5kseries.com.

The next race is the Doylestown Red, White, and Blue 5K this Saturday, May 23rd.
Start your Memorial Day weekend with an exciting race that ends on State Street
in downtown Doylestown. Following the race, there will be food, friendship, and
the awards ceremonies in the Star Garden behind Puck's. A highlight of the post
race activities will be live entertainment by the band, Rose's Cross.

It's important to note that the starting time for this year's race is earlier
than other years -- 9:00 AM. Runners can register on Friday night at the OLMC
Gym from 5:50-7:30. Pre-registered runners can also pick up bibs and chips on
Friday night. For more information and to register (before May 21st), go to
www.bucks5kseries.com.

Finally, we will be selling some 2009 long sleeve tech shirts at the Series
table for $15. We will also have 2008 shirts (medium) available for $10.
