TWO TRIPLES AT LAB FITNESS 5K

Nancy Smith and Antonio De Vido swept the field at The Lab Fitness +
Spa 5K race on April 26th. They both captured a triple crown by
winning the overall, the age-graded masters, and the masters
championships.

The Lab Fitness + Spa 5K race is the third race in the Panera Bread
Bucks 5K Series. As with the first two Series races, there were a
record number of runners.

Smith (New Britain) was the top overall and masters woman in the race
with a time of 19:50. Her age-graded rating was an outstanding
86.4%. To put this in perspective, a rating of 90% is world class.
Linda Shorrock (Ambler) was the second fastest woman, finishing in
20:53. Third place went to Janna Youmans (Chalfont) in 21:05.

De Vido (Doylestown) was the top overall finisher in the race with a
time of 17:21. Lee Sossen (New York NY) was second in 17:39,
followed by Ben Derby (Dublin) with a time of 17:43.

In the age-graded masters competition, De Vido was the top male. His
rating was 80.5%. Carl Goldschmidt (Doylestown) was second (77.0%)
and Tom Brown (Jamison) was third (76.5%). De Vido had the best
masters time (17:21). Goldschmidt was second (18:33) and Carlton
Seybolt (New Britain) was third (18:56).

Following Smith in the women's age-graded rating were Lynda Terry
(Chalfont) with a rating of 74.3% and Susan Walton (Hatboro, 70.3%).
Smith had the best women's masters time (19:50). Stacy Flaville -
Boop (Langhorne) was second (22:53) and Beth Miller (Furlong) was
third (23:01).

The most competitive age group race was once again male 55-59. Tom
Brown (20:25) edged Phil Davies (Doylestown) by one second, and Terry
Territo (Newtown) by 10 seconds. The threesome was separated by just
11 seconds at the New Hope-Solebury race. Davies had run the Boston
Marathon just 5 days earlier.

For the women, it was the 25-29 and 40-44 age groups. Tracey Sawyer
(21:41), Kristin Zielinski (21:58) and Jody Frank (22:12) battled it
out in F25-28, while Stacy Flaville-Boop (22:53). Beth Miller
(23:01), and Christine Murray (23:24) were also within 31 seconds in
F40-44.

The complete results for this race and all of the races are posted on
www.bucks5kseries.com. The Series Standings after the first 3 weeks
will be posted later this week.

Every Panera Bread Bucks 5k Series race includes a 1 mile fun run.
This year Kumon of Doylestown is sponsoring the one mile runs and
providing a "Run to Read" promotion. For every kid/student who runs
3 of the 1 mile fun runs, Kumon will donate a book to their school.
If the child runs 6 races, they get 2 books and if they run all 7
races, they will be entered to win one of six Barnes & Noble Gift
Cards.

The next Series race is the SERTOMA Strut on May 10th. Like all of
the Series races, the course is certified by USA Track and Field. It
is a beautiful course which starts and finishes in Doylestown
Township's Central Park. A highlight is mile 2, which is on a forest
path along the Neshaminy Creek. In addition to the fun run, the
whole family can enjoy Kids Castle after the race. If you register
before May 3rd, you can save $5. Visit www.bucks5kseries.com for
more information and to register.
