PANERA BREAD BUCKS 5K SERIES BEGINS MARCH 30th   Message List

Hey Runners,

I hope you're aware that the YMCA race has been pushed back 2 weeks
from its normal date near St. Patrick's Day. The new date is March
30th, so there's still time to pre-register and save $5. Better yet,
pre-register for all seven races, save $15 and score a long sleeve
dri-fit Series shirt. Pre-registration closes March 22nd.

There will be many events to satisfy the most competitive athletes as
well as entire families. In 2007, Karl Dusen proved that the Y
course is fast one. He smoked it by running the fastest-ever Bucks
5K Series race in a time of 14:51.

In addition to the 5K race, there will be a Pump and Run, a 1-mile
fun run, and a kid's scramble. This year, for the first time, the
Fitness Walk will go the "whole way". The walk will start at the
same time as the race, and, like the race, will finish on the track
in the Central Bucks West Stadium.

I had the opportunity to tape a Comcast Newsmakers show last week.
Comcast has been a supporter of the Series and a sponsor for 13
years. The show will be aired during the last week of March and the
first week in April on the CNN Headline News channel. The 5 minute
segment provides a lot of information about the Panera Bread Bucks 5K
Series. We are also working to present it on www.bucks5kseries.com.

Panera Bread and The Fitness Lab at the Health and Wellness Center in
Warrington are sponsoring a registration day this Saturday, March
15th, from 9:00 to 12:00. You can walk in and pre-register for one
or all of races and enjoy a Panera bagel. The first 25 to register
will also receive a $3 Panera gift card.

www.bucks5kseries has all of the information you need to know about
the Series: last year's results, course elevations, times for the
various events, race locations, etc. While you're there, you can
register online or print a mail-in application form.

If you'd like to add another 5K race to your calendar, you may want
to consider the Bridge Valley Trail Blazer Race for Autism on April
19th. Their website is www.bvraceforautism.com.

I hope your training is going well and that I'll see you all on March
30th.

Dick Patterson
