Check out the Bucks 5K Series standings. They are now posted on
www.bucks5kseries.com. The final standings are determined by your
best 4 races. With 4 races to go, there's plenty of time left to
move up. The points are tabulated by the Compuscore computer and are
dependent upon accurate spelling of each runner's name. If you see a
problem, please let us know and we'll correct it.
While you're visiting the website, look for our new course elevations
feature. Our webmaster, David Pajer (TrainingZone Sports), has put
his GPS system to work and accurately measured the changes in
elevation for each of our certified courses. The system even assigns
a rating to each course.
The next Bucks 5K Series race, the SERTOMA Strut, is on May 12th.
Step lively because there will be a new tune at the Sertoma 5K this
year.
The Mummers All-Stars, representing three different clubs, will add a
lively beat to the festivities in Doylestown's Central Park. The
trio includes a banjo, sax, and accordion. They will be playing,
strolling and strutting to the tune of some old string band
favorites. There will be fun for everyone, with a 1-mile fun run, 2-
mile fitness walk, face painting, free massages, great food, and
raffles for various items, including a mountain bike for the 5K
runners and a scooter for the Fun Runners. Radio station B101 will
be there to supplement the music of the Mummers.
Traditionally the proceeds from SERTOMA's fundraising activities have
been to provide support to families and people with communication
disorders. This year Sertoma has elected to direct a portion of the
race proceeds to the family of Buckingham Township Police Officer,
Tim Johnson.
