Hey, Runners,
I hope your training is going well. You still have time to step it
up and be in top racing form by March 18th, the day of the CB Family
YMCA 5K. Nearly 500 runners entered last year's race and 43 beat 20
minutes – it's a fast course that finishes on the CB West track.
We'll be celebrating St. Patrick's Day with activities that include
face painting and blarney stone painting for the kids.
In addition to the 5K race, there will be a 1 mile fun run, a 2 mile
fitness walk, a kid's scramble, and our annual pump and run
competition. To register and get more information, log on to
www.bucks5kseries.com.
The race benefits the YMCA's financial assistance program -- no one
is turned away from the Y.
We have redesigned www.bucks5kseries.com to make it easier to
navigate our website. We encourage you to visit it and learn more
about the races and the sponsors who make the Series events
possible. They include our Title Sponsor Quigley Cold-Eeze; our
Media Sponsor, Comcast; Delaware Valley College, Marvic Supply,
TrainingZone Sports, Univest, Sandy Horan Realtor, Fred Beans Family
of Dealerships, and the Medical Healing Arts Center -- Johnny King-
Marino, DC, CCSP.
Our Official Suppliers are Annie's Water Ice, Bagel Barrel, Eagle's
Peak spring water, Unifrutti, Planet Smoothie, Lucky's Moving, and
Smithprints.
Please support our sponsors and, if you can, thank them for their
contributions to the Bucks 5K Series.
We are completing the design of our special moisture wicking shirt.
It should be displayed on www.bucks5kseries.com within a week. If
you pre-register for all 7 races before 3/11, you will receive one
free.
Finally, I just recorded a Comcast Newsmakers show about the Series.
It will be run during the next month on the CNN Headlines channel.
We don't have the air times, but we hope to make it available on our
website as a streaming video.
Stay warm and train hard,
Dick Patterson
