Karl Dusen won the Doylestown 5K in an outstanding time of 15:30. He
ran well ahead of the rest of the field, and might have challenged
Todd Wiley's course record of 15:20 had he had been pushed. Karl
attended CB East and now lives in New York City. In second place was
a current CB East runner, sophomore Joshua Izewski (17:06). It runs
in the family because Josh's sister, Nicole, won the female 12-14 age
group, and his brother, Alexander was 3rd in the male 12-14 age group.

Laura Fanelli (Chalfont) was the overall women's champion with a time
of 19:43. Jennifer Moylan (Sellersville) was second in 20:19.

Gert Freas (North Wales) was the first masters woman. Her time was
20:30. Joan Kotz Kovar (Doylestown) was second in 21:22. For the
masters female age-graded division, Gert and Joan swapped places.
Joan's score was 79.2% and Gert's was 78.7%.

Antonio De Vido (Doylestown) was the top masters male, while Carl
Goldschmid (Holicong) was second. Their times were 17:52 and 18:17,
respectively. In the age-graded masters competition, Lou Coppens
(Warminster) prevailed with a score of 80.9%. He was followed by Dan
Tantino (North Wales), whose score was 78.5%.

The closest age group was male 45-49. John Lehman (Greenville, SC),
Rick Adamsky Warminster), and Brian Adamsky (Jamison) finished in
19:31, 20:02, and 20:04, respectively. Tim Adamsky (Doylestown)
completed the Adamsky Brothers Trifecta with a time of 20:18. Talk
about brotherly love!

For the women, it was the 12-14 age group. Nicole Izewski (23:52),
Kristen Myers (New Britain – 24:38) and Julie Smith (Doylestown –
24:59) took the honors.

The complete results of the Doylestown race and all of the other
Bucks 5K Series races are available on www.bucks5kseries.com.

After the first 5 races, Kyle Murray and Alexandra Brasington
continue to be the leaders in the competition for the overall Bucks
5K Series Championships.

There are a total of 28 age groups in the Series and 21 first places
are still up for grabs. Check out the Series standings on
www.bucks5kseries.com. You may very well be a contender for a 1st.
2nd, or 3rd place award.

The final two races are the Chalfont Challenge on June 10th and the
Special Equestrians 5k on Father's Day, June 18th. The courses for
both of these races have just been certified by USA Track and Field,
so if you set a World 5000 meter record, you will go into the record
books.

Come to Chalfont to celebrate the Borough's 105th birthday and the
inauguration of its Park and Trail Development Program. Special
Equestrians will be providing lots of fun and prizes for your Father,
so bring him to run or cheer. For more information and to register
for both of these races, please visit www.bucks5kseries.com.

Finally, if you are one of the runners who registered in advance for
all seven races and have not picked up your special moisture wicking
t-shirt, now's the time. Many have asked how to purchase this
attractive shirt, we have a few extras available. Just bring $20 to
the next race. They will probably disappear quickly.

See you in Chalfont,

Dick Patterson
