Central Bucks Family YMCA Race Launches Bucks 5K Series

On March 16, more than 400 runners competed in the 8th annual Central
Bucks Family YMCA 5K road race, the first of seven races in the Bucks
5K Series. The day included a 1 mile fun run, a kid's scramble,
face
painting, and blarney stone painting. A bagpiper provided
entertainment at the start and finish. The race began near the CB
West Stadium and finished on the track.

Racers, runners, and rookies, from 8 years old to 70, enjoyed the
beautiful day. Many entire families were on hand to share their
experiences with the community of runners.

Benefits from the race will be used to fund the Y's financial
assistance program, which provides needy youth, families and adults
with much needed outlets for social and physical development. No one
is turned away from the Y for inability to pay.

as
the master's division, in a time of 16:39. He was followed by

year old Alex Brasington was close behind in 19:07. The third

Quakertown
both won in the 25-29 age group. Randy was 7th overall among the
men, while Mary was 5th. among the women.
