BUCKS 5K SERIES NEWS

On a perfect day for running, a record number of runners turned out
for the Sertoma 5K race. Alexandra Brasington and John Marino both
set course records in winning the overall women's and men's
title.
For 11 year old Alexandra, this was her second win in the series.

Heather Houseknect and Brittany Bonnell were the 2nd and 3rd place
women. 13 year old Brittnay is another one of the outstanding young
runners racing this year. In fact, 13 year old David Siuta took 2nd
place in the men's overall, followed closely by Ken McDaid.

Four runners from the 40-44 age group finished in the top seven
positions, making this age group by far the most competitive. They
included John Marino, Jim Leach, Tom Rudan, and John Gorgol. The top
female masters were Nancy Smith, Cheryl Maccaroni, and Marian McCough.

Series Standings

To be eligible for Series awards, a runner must run a minimum of 4
races. For runners who run more than four, we will score your four
best finishes. Sertoma was just the 3rd of 7 races, so there is time
for everyone to both qualify and win. The Pearl S. Buck race is
Sunday, April 28th.

At this time John Marino and Alexandra Brasington are the overall
leaders. The age group leaders are Linda Thurston, Barbara Burger,
Ruth King, Nancy Smith, Cheryl Maccaroni, Diane Muntzer, Pam
Daugherty, Karla Holt, Amy Landis, Katie Pulizzano, Jody Frank, and
Brittany Bonnell. On the men's side, it's Frank Rubino,
Vadim Buzan,
Bob Berthold, Mike Clarke, Bob Richey, Fred Gropper, Jim Leach, Ken
McDaid, Sam Varano,John Guth, Eric Hathaway, Ryan Komaiko, and
Stephen Spierto.

The complete standings are listed on www.bucks5Kseries.com.

What if runners cross the finish line at the same time?
The USTAF and Bucks 5K Series do not recognize ties. In the event
that two or more runners cross the finish line at the same time, the
officials at the finish line will determine the order of finish. The
finishing order will be determined by the order in which the
runners'
tear-off tags are placed over the spindle at the end of the chute.
In these cases, the finishing times may be identical. Race awards
and Series points will be determined by the order of finish and not
by time.
