We have our second volunteer, both of whom are not trained.  All we need now is someone who is TEAM Trained.

Who's going to do it?  This is easy money.  Your club needs you...

Gentleman,

I completely agree with Evan.  This will make you a better rugby player and I strongly recommend that you join.  I mentioned at practice that I am going to push every player to play rugby as often as possible.  That's the reason we are entering 2 teams into the Christmas 7's on December 5th.  In order to play rugby at a high level you must be in top physical condition.  I can say, without a doubt, that CrossFit will get you to that point.  It's going to be a long, tough journey to get where we want to be, but the results of our hard work this off-season will show this Spring when we tear through the competition.

It looks like the price for a group of ten guys to pariticpate in unlimited cross fit classess will be $150 for the foundations course which lasts one month and is required, then $100 per month for unlimited monthly visits after that.  The foundations course is generally scheduled to start at the beggining of each month, but the trainer at south baltimore cross fit said we can start whenever we are ready.  Classess are 7 pm monday through friday with a second 6 PM class meeting on tuesday thursday, and one 10 AM class on saturdays with our membership you can go to as many of these as you would like.  For any other details please visit the website at www.southbaltimorec f.com

If you have more specific questions that myself or the website cannot answer, they have contact info on the website for any questions specifically related to the team deal just ask me and I will either answer or pass it on.

Remeber this deal is for ten people right now we have 8 commited and a few questionable without the full ten it may become more expensive so email me back ASAP if you are not on the definite list below but want to join.  This is a great opportunity to create a relationship with a local gym and become better athletes I urge everyone ot consider it.

Gentlemen,

I need to give a final count to Columbus Gardens tomorrow, so if you haven't let
me know the number of tickets you've sold, you need to do so by tomorrow
(Wednesday) before noon.

Also, I have arranged for a bus between the city and the Bull Roast. The pickup
and drop off points and times are listed below. $15 round trip which must be
paid when boarding the bus (no one-way rate). Make sure you are at the pickup
locations ready to go at the time listed because the bus won’t be waiting.
That means have your money in hand, tab closed, and be ready to go at the time
listed.

Trevor

Pickup Times and Locations:

7:10pm at Frazier's on the Avenue in Hampden 919 W 36th St

7:30pm at Mum's in Federal Hill 1132 S Hanover St

7:50pm at Burn's and Drury's house in Canton 835 S Ellwood Ave

Return trip will board at 4301 Klosterman Ave at 12:45am and drop off in the
reverse order of the original pickups.

Fellas,

There’s still time to put in an order for the new kit bags.  Attached is a mockup of what the bags will look like.  Call or email me by this Friday if you want to order a bag.  They’ll be fairly similar in color/design to what we ordered last time.  Here’s the list I have of who’s interested in the kit bag.  Please make sure I spelled your name correctly and put the right number in.

Pat Fink                                Fink 4

James Osborn                   Osborn 14

Will Otto                              Otto 2

Rob Books                           Books 7

Jack Bonner                        Bonner 3

Jimmy Bonner                   Bonner 15

Jim Bonner                         Bonner 8

Luis Espinoza                      Espinoza 2

CJ Blinke                              Blinke 5

Jeff Quinn                           Quinn 11

John Frederick                  Waldo 15

Franco                                  Crispi 3

Please bring check/cash ($65/bag) to the bull roast this Saturday.  You can give your payment to Wade Gowl.

Fellas,

There has been some interest in doing up another order of kit bags.  After talking with some of the guys who’ve been using the old kit bags, it seems like most are unhappy with the durability of the bags.  We’ve decided to go with another manufacturer this time around.  The new bags will be similar in size and color to the bags that most of us have now.  These bags are more durable than the last.  The only big difference is there will be a true wet pocket, so you can keep your dirty boots/kit away from other clothes/items.  Price for these bags will be $65.  I need at least 12 orders.  I’m hoping we can put the order in by the end of the month so we can have them before the spring season starts.  Wade will have a mock bag to show you at practice in the upcoming weeks.

The bartenders at Mum’s are throwing Chris (the proprietor of Mum’s) a surprise birthday party this Wednesday, November 4th from 6pm till close.  If you’re in the area, stop by, have a few beers and wish Chris a happy birthday.

Lastly, PAY YOUR F*CKING DUES!  We’ve only had 15 guys pay dues so far.  We can’t continue to pay for lights, subsidize travel, and more importantly pay for beer after games if people don’t pay their dues.  You can bring cash or check to practice, or pay online via paypal.

Some of you know already my company currently intend to send me home at the end of January. My hope is to remain in the states but that leaves me jobless and visaless as of that time. If anyone knows anyone in the IT and business consulting arena (who might be employing and willing to sponsor a visa) I'd be really grateful if you could put me in touch. I've attached my resume in case.

Team -

First of all, the most important thing for us to do, RIGHT NOW, as a club is get to practice tonight, and put on a great show on Saturday.  We have worked really hard all year, let's not let it fall apart now.  This weekend we WILL kick Washington's ass....

Second of all, I don't want to put anything besides this weekend in anyone's head, BUT, I need to know how many of you would be interested in playing in a 7's tournament in Richmond on December 5th?  It will be a full day of rugby.  Probably leave Baltimore at the crack of dawn and return around sunset.

Let me know with a personal email.

Guys,

I'm looking into arranging transportation to and from the Bull Roast with pickups and dropoffs in Canton (Burn's and Drury's place 7:20pm), Fed Hill (Mum's 7:40pm), and Hampden (Fraziers 8:00pm).  The bus would leave the Bull Roast around 12:45am in the reverse order.

I need to know who is interested and how many people they think will be with them.  This will be cheaper than cabs and way cheaper and smarter than a DUI so consider it email me ASAP so I can figure out what type of vehicle we need and the cost.

Cross fit is good way stay in shape and increase  strength and overall body control. One of the downsides of cross fit is that you need to be in shape before you start the program or you will injury yourself, so if your going to start don't wait until a month after the season ends, give yourself a week off and then start the program with a nutritional plan that doesn't include 12 packs and burritos.
I would suggest all players to think about some form of rugby fitness to do during the off season. USA rugby has excellent work out programs for guys that like the gym and guys that hate the gym.
Think big, I know all you guys and I know the sick feeling we all have in our stomachs right now. We know we are better then every team we faced this year, we were the team to beat and teams came at us focused and determined, at times we lacked focus and seem to wait for someone else to step up and make the big plays. I would say this year was sort of a changing of the guard and the team lost its face, that happens as time passes, but you younger guys and new players are the new faces of Baltimore Rugby, its time to challenge yourselves, challenge each other. This team has a history of winning, this team is your team now, us veterans of the club have our stories. Its time for you guys to step up and write your own legacy.
As Bonner would always say "Were do want to be in June?"
Lets end the season with a bang and continue to push forward.

Cheers
Joe

Guys,

We are a high level rugby club that is on the verge of being an elite club, and has been for some time.  I think that one of the biggest obstacles that we have struggled with in accomplishing this goal has been coming into the season lacking the fitness to play a full 80 minutes full bore.  This lack of fitness by the large majority of our players compounds the other mistakes we make so that by mid season we are just getting into early season form.

Everyone talks about working hard during the season but just as important is working hard during the off-season so you can come into the season prepared.  Drury, Burns, Jeffers and I have been working on setting up a deal with South Baltimore Crossfit.  Crossfit Gyms generally range from $150-$230 per month but after spekaing with one of the trainers at South Baltimore (Federal HIll) cross fit they are intersted in setting up a deal with the rugby team.  The size of the discount will depend on how many guys we can get to commit but the goal is to make it comparable to a regular gym membership.  For those of you unfamiliar with Cross Fit it is a work out program which centers around over all fitness and cross training and is perfectly adaptable to rugby.  It includes both weight training and conditioning, Work outs only last approximatley 1 hour so the time commitment is not that large.  If you want to get a better idea of whats involved check out the south baltimore cross fit website here: http://southbaltimo recf.com/

Getting a good showing of players to join this program will be extremely beneficial to our team.  Cross Fit is widley recognized as a top level fitness program which will increase our playing ability, and gaining a partnership with a gym will greatly increase our exposure.  SO please put some thought into this and email me back, once we get an idea of how many are interested we can get a much better idea of pricing and more details.

If you want to get a better idea of whats involved check out the south baltimore cross fit website here: http://southbaltimorecf.com/

Guys, with one week left in the season, we’ve had about 3.14% of the team pay dues.  Starting at practice tomorrow, we will call you out if you haven’t paid dues.  We’re 4 months into the season, you’ve had plenty of time to pay up, so do so now.  After our victory this Saturday, it’s going to suck when you’re paying for drinks while the dues paying members drink for free.

I'd like to follow this up by saying that we need all available players.  To be clear, there will be two games on Saturday, and we want everyone to come to the game.  It's close by and a great opportunity for everyone.  If you don't see your name on the list, it means you have been selected for the second side game.

    Guys,

I found a good deal on a custom Hoodie for the team, but I need to know Interest before get the final price.  I will announce the price before ordering and get a final count once I have the price (should be around $45-50).  Minimum Order is 18.   This is just a generic Photo, the Final will be in the team colors, (Probably main color black with Green and Gold, unless someone has a better Idea), Team Logo, and Brumbies (or something we all agree on) on the back in tackeltwill letters (think High School jacket letters).  If you have any questions, let me know.  I’d like to get this done soon, so let me know by next Thursday.

    Thanks.

    Fellows,

I would add to this that I thought you were more fit and had a higher work rate around the breakdowns than did Charlotte.  You have to keep that up this weekend against Maryland!

    Gentlemen,

The Bull Roast is fast approaching and I hope everyone is making a serious
effort to sell their tickets. DON'T JUST SIT ON THEM AND SAY YOU COULDN'T SELL
THEM. At least make the effort to ask friends, family, neighbors, coworkers,
etc. The tickets stubs, funds, and unsold tickets are due back to me by next
Thursday (11/12/09). There is a limited capacity and I need to get an
approximate count for the hall, so if you have sold your tickets or know roughly
how many you will sell please let me know ASAP. Zero is an unacceptable answer!
This is very important for the club, not to mention one hell of a good time, so
    get on it.

Looking forward to a great event,
    Trevor
