I think that was a wise choice. One of my students is a phys ed. teacher in an inner-city school. He's done the same thing. Good job-a positive way to spread the arts.

My degree was phys ed
One day I was subbing and didn't have a lesson plan. They were jr high so I got permission to teach self-defense. Knowing how kids like to goof around I only taught nonstriking escapes. They joked around about it in pe but sure enough at lunch they were show the techniques to their classmates - exactly why I didn't teach strikes

I think Chuck Norris's program is an after school program, making it an extra-curricular activity. Should a program like his be offered as part of the school curriculum? It could be offered through the Phys. Ed. Dept. Same with a college.
