Hi guys,
For those of you interested in designing a training program (it's
already getting late in the year!), I've uploaded the files to accompany
Forest's 2001 lecture on the subject. Forest was a great resource for
the team, having raced for a dozen years, having a coaching
certification, and being incredibly willing to teach and help out, not
to mention driving my sorry cycling ass to races all over the northeast
(and elsewhere) for which I will be eternally grateful. Unfortunately,
Forest is now in northern Vermont torturing schoolboys, but his training
tips were very helpful, and I've followed his advice (more or less) ever
since. You can find his account of the meeting, and the training
program excel sheet, at this URL:

This is probably also a good moment to mention that there are a lot of
cool things on the yahoogroups website which you can use: members can
add events to the calendar, upload their own files, add bookmarks, and
photos, and even chat. I've added a few things which you may or may not
find interesting, including pictures of the old Brown jerseys through
the years. You will be pleased to hear that I have resisted the
temptation to create an inane poll concerning your cycling habits or leg
shaving techniques. (Unfortunately, you need to sign up with
yahoogroups to use some of the fancier things -- it is, actually, safe
and painless -- just use the email address you are subscribed to the
list with.)
Kate.
