For this year anyway Sammy.
With the Bloomberg rezoning, I'm thinking that KeySpan Park may be the
only attraction there after next season for a long time.
The city seems to be trying to force the current developer Joe Sitt
out.
That's fine if they have another developer ready to go in the batter's
box, but right now they don't and Sitt is the only game in town.
The city rezoning opens up a golden opportunity for Fred Wilpon to
finally put his money where his mouth is when it comes to his
expressed love of Coney Island since the land around Keyspan park
including the lots currently owned by the city would become available
to him if he wanted to redevelop it.
The question is will he step up to the plate now that he has the
chance?
