I don't think he'll ever be the same player he was.
While I feel for the guy, you have to give the Mets credit for this
trade.
They got the better end of the deal in getting Mientkiewicz to fill
part of the void at 1st in 2005 until they could finally reel in
Delgado last year.
They even got Boston to pay for his buyout of $450K by throwing in
Ian.

With Mientkiewicz on the 15 day DL with a fractured wrist, it looks
like the Mets had better luck with him than the Yankees will.
