I agree with you about the outfielder thing. I know how much Bronson
wants to go back to Boston (and how much the fans want him back), but
I don't think anything is going to happen this year trade-wise, as
the Reds need him for pitching. They're currently looking for other
pitchers to fill out the rotation behind him and (Aaron) Harang.
Plus, remember he signed that contract extension, so I'm assuming he
thought about the situation first (being there vs. going back to
Boston someday). I'm not saying it's totally out of the question,
but it may happen after his contract is up, if nothing else. Then
again, this is MLB, so you never know what will happen even
tomorrow! I remember when Bronson was back here with the Pirates
(yes, that was a LONG time ago!) and during ST, 2003 (Feb 4 to be
exact), he's on a different team because he was put on waivers and
*surprise*, he's gone! He hasn't been back on our team since and
never wants to be either...do you know how much that hurts to know
that? Hey, at least you guys in Cincinnati can enjoy him now and you
guys in Boston have another chance of getting him back someday. I'm
sure it will happen, too, but just in due time. Regardless, I
wouldn't worry, as time flies faster than you think and his contract
will be up before you know it. Then we'll see what happens.
