Sheffield Sharks will bear the name of healthcare company Westfield on
their shirts this season after the BBL holders clinched a sponsorship
deal.
England international guard Ray Carter has signed with the Manchester
Giants. The 6'2 graduate of Central Florida last season averaged 15.1
points in 14 games for KFI Reykjavik in Iceland and 15.1 points for
Austrian side Oberwart. The club also confirmed the signing of UK
forward Errol Seaman.
Derby Storm signed Tristan Lawson and Jerome Johnson, who have both been
playing for Nottingham at under-19 level. Lawson is a 6’4" guard,
Johnson a 5’7" point guard. Storm also signed 6’5" guard Damion Modeste
and 6’2" shooting guard Mark Burton. Both are aged 21, have spent time
at colleges in the United States and have played for London Towers’
junior sides.
Worthing Thunder Revels named ex-Worthing Bears coach Neil McElduff has
their new coach. The Rebels also signed ex-Bears players forward Peter
Knechtel and guards Gary Smith and Ernesto Moreno. The clubs' two
permitted import stars will be 6'5 American forward Sean Hampton and
fellow countryman 6'9 centre Jamal Palmer.
NBL Men's side Cardiff Clippers named Michael Gould as coach.
Scottish international centre Jane Ward has joined Midlothian
Saints from league champions Polonia Phoenix.
