Another New Jersey for theBroncos.. whats this number 20 in 16
years???
THE Broncos have pensioned off their unpopular powder blue alternate
jersey.
In its place will be a radically different design containing
virtually none
of the club's traditional colours of maroon and gold.
The new jersey, which will be worn only when the Broncos'
first-choice
jersey clashes with the jersey worn by the home team they are
playing, is
predominantly white with wide dark blue side panels and thin maroon
and gold
stripes down the sides.
In 2002, the Broncos were ordered to wear the teal jersey three
times when
their preferred dark maroon away strip clashed with the dark jerseys
of
Melbourne, the Warriors and Penrith.
Last year, Brisbane avoided using the teal outfits by wearing gold
commemorative jerseys produced for the re-opening of Suncorp Stadium
in
"clash" matches.
The Broncos plan to launch the alternate jersey on February 16 and
it will
not be available in shops until then but the new look was revealed
in an NRL
2004 "style guide" issued to the media last week.
Sponsor logos will be added to the front and sleeves of the jerseys
with
players' names and numbers to adorn the back.
