Defenseman Bret Hedican, who broke his jaw in the
last preseason game, skated Wednesday morning. He will
take another X-ray and CAT scan Friday to see how he
is healing.<br><br>"There's no way we can tell [how
much longer] I'll be out until we get a look at the
bone," Hedican said.<br><br>Hedican was expected to be
out six to eight weeks.<br><br>"At least I'm able to
skate with the injury," said Hedican, who has his jaw
wired shut and is on a liquid diet.<br><br>"It was hard
to breathe out there, but I felt really good. After
losing a lot of weight the first few days, I've gotten
it back up and I'm trying to maintain it."

after having his chin sewn up as a result of a high
stick when he was hit again and broke his jaw.. talk
about a bad night!
