Bill Sampaio, Director of the Norfolk County Futsal League announces
that this coming weekend's 2005 Massachusetts State Cup Futsal
Championships will represent the largest such event in the history
of the sport of Futsal in the state of Massachusetts. "With more
than 50 teams from all over the state of Massachusetts registered to
play for this year's state title on 6 courts in two state of the art
sporting facilities at Fore Kicks in Norfolk and at Mass Premier
Courts in nearby Foxboro, this is perhaps the largest such event not
only in Massachusetts but maybe even all of New England, says Coach
Sampaio". "I am absolutely elated at the response we have had for
this year's United States Futsal Federation sanctioned event and I
am extremely grateful for the efforts being put forward by the
tremendous group of volunteers we have that have tirelessly pulled
this event together".

This state cup event serves as a qualifying event for the USFF's
Regional Championships that are scheduled to be held in February in
Monroeville, PA. First place and runner up State Cup teams
automatically qualify for the USFF Regional Championships. The
regionals at Monroeville serve as the only qualifier for the USFF
National Championships that will be held in Anaheim, CA next July.
