A new Yahoo Group has started, hopefully just a temporary one, in
support of Coach Vava Marques, who has been wrongly suspended for at
least a year (basically fired) because of racial discrimination or
something even bigger than that.

There you'll find out the reasons why Foothill College claims he did
something so terrible to cause his suspension, and there are various
pieces of evidence which testify that Vava Marques has NOT done
anything wrong. The Athletic Director at Foothill College, Sue
Gatlin, with no background in sports, by the way, has been "after"
Vava for the past 4 years, trying to set him up and have him fired. A
large group of the local community has gathered all necessary pieces
of information, including a letter from the Athletic Director of an
opponent (De Anza College) who declared that not only the referee in
the game against Foothill did indeed benefit her College (De Anza),
also the red card shown to Vava was incorrect as was a red card shown
to a Foothill players in the first 15 minutes of the first half of
the game.

In the community there are doctors, lawyers, other Athletic
Directors, students, Vava's former and current players, and soccer
coaches, such as Santa Clara's Jerry Smith.

It is such a situation that even the Foothill President Fong is
involved, even tough she neglected to consider the plea for a better
judgment on Vava's case after 35 people from the community expressed
their anger against the decision to hire a new coach.

Instead, she has already hired a new coach after promising
to "investigate more thoroughly" the truthfulness of Sue Gatlin's
decision to fire Vava.

If justice takes place we'll see Vava Marques reinstated as the
Foothill College Men's Soccer Coach and Sue Gatlin behind bars or
doing community service for false witness and discrimination, to say
the least.
