Subject: Futsal's Dallas Cup

The Midwest Futsal Championships is held in Kansas City on February
15th- 17th, 2003 (President's Day Weekend) . Last year we had teams
come from Chicago, Il., Bismarck, ND, Sioux Falls, SD, Minneapolis,
MN, St. Louis, MO, Omaha, NE, Des Moines, IA- teams from throughout
the state of Kansas and Missouri. This year we have heard from
teams in California and other places who will be playing in this
tournament. The tournament is for U-8 and older and have single age
grouping. We have an mens competitive and a men's over 30
division. Last year we had over 120 teams play.

What makes Kansas City unique? Last year we had 13 futsal courts -
all with official goals. Every game has two certified futsal
referees. Our older teams including adult mens play games on courts
larger than a standard basketball court (74' wide X 105' long). Our
referees handle over 100 games a week all winter giving them good
preparation for the tournament. With all the courts, we are able to
complete a large tournament (up to 150- 160 teams) in a two day
weekend. Anticipating growth we could have over 200 teams play over
a three day weekend without another facility.

We play in three facilities. Johnson County Community College has 5
courts and is less than two years old. The Tomahawk Dome is a bubble
dome that has recently been resurfaced on two of the four courts.
The JCGAA facility is approximately two years old and is an all wood
surface with four courts. All three facilities are within
approximately 5 miles of one another. The Doubletree Hotel in
Overland Park, KS has been our headquarters hotel the past two
years. They have an indoor pool and the facility and staff cater
specifically to our futsal customers that weekend. Room nights are
typically around $70 a night. For instance a pizza buffet is
available for young families.

Kansas City is served by a major airport. The cheapest flights are
typically found at Southwest Airlines, the carrier with the most
flights in and out of Kansas City.

The area of Kansas City where this tournament is held is in Johnson
County, one of the wealthiest counties in the United States. The
Sprint Corporation Headquarters Campus is located near our tournament
hotel. An 18 screen movie theater is directly across from the
Tomahawk Dome. Many opportunities are available to shop and eat at
reasonable and unreasonable prices at several area shopping malls and
life style shopping centers. The area is very safe.

You can sign up at http://www.kcfutsal.org or call Jon Parry, the
League Administrator and former US Futsal team member at 913-393-
2213. We will be updating our tournament portion of the website soon
once our league gets under way. Tournament brochures are now
available.

Its a great first rate venue with teams coming from all over the
United States. Your sure to find good competition and have a great
time.
