Professional Futsal League taps Tozer, Sheldon
and Magellan for Advisory Board<br><br>AUSTIN, Tex.
(3-15-01) - PFL Commissioner Scott Placek <br>announced
today the first three members of the PFL's Advisory
Board: Keith Tozer, Tim Sheldon and Robert Magellan.
<br><br>The Advisory Board is composed of individuals who
will meet regularly with PFL staff to advise and
discuss issues relating to the development and promotion
of the United States' first professional futsal
league.<br><br>Keith Tozer - Keith Tozer is the Head Coach of the
United States Futsal National Team, having served in
that position since 1996. Prior to that time he was an
assistant with the team to head coach John Kowalski.
Currently the Head Coach and Vice-President of Team
Operations for the NPSL's Milwaukee Wave, Tozer has also
been the head coach of the Kansas City Attack (NPSL),
Los Angeles Lazers (MISL) and Louisville Thunder
(AISA).<br><br>Keith brings a well of professional soccer experience,
both as a coach and an executive. As head coach of the
Futsal National Team, Keith adds great insight into the
evolution of professional futsal across the world. As a
coach and executive with the NPSL's Milwaukee Wave,
Tozer will help the PFL in exploring cooperation
between the PFL and the NPSL<br><br>Tim Sheldon - Tim
Sheldon is currently the editor and publisher of Futsal
Online and has been an active supporter of the sport for
nearly two decades.<br><br>As an associate editor at
Soccer America, Tim first reported on futsal
developments in the United States. For several years, Tim was
the media representative for the Unites States Futsal
Federation. He has also worked with a number of daily
newspapers and with United Press International. Tim will
bring additional expertise in media relations and
communications to the PFL team.<br><br>Robert Magellan - Robert
Magellan is a coach and player with World United futsal
club, reigning national futsal open cup champions.
Robert grew up playing futsal in Brazil and was a player
for Flamengo in their soccer and futsal
programs.<br><br>After attending the University of San Francisco on a
soccer scholarship, Robert was a member of the U.S.
Futsal national team that participated in the 1988 world
championships in Australia. Robert will bring contacts with the
active futsal community and experience as a top level
futsal player to the PFL.<br><br>Commenting on the
Advisory Board, Placek said, "We are very pleased that
Coach Tozer has agreed to help advise us as we continue
the process of promoting and developing the league.
His expertise and profile both in Futsal and the NPSL
will be of great benefit to the PFL as we continue to
prepare for our opening season. Likewise, Tim Sheldon and
Robert Magellan have years of experience and contacts in
the Futsal and soccer communities that will help us
in out growth as a league."<br><br>Placek added that
