(I found this on the Coyotte's Group. Thought it might be of some
interest to this group.)
Introducing..."I Need My Hockey Fix(ed)" ribbon magnets.
Fed up and disappointed with the NHL Lockout, Doug Sitler of Buffalo,
NY decided to take his frustrations to the streets – literally.
Being slapped on cars across North America are black and orange
magnetic "ribbons" bemoaning the fact that there is an NHL Players
Lockout. The ribbons read: I NEED MY HOCKEY FIX(ED)
The slogan was chosen for it's double-meaning. Due to the NHL lockout,
fans are looking for their "fix" to satisfy their hockey cravings. And
the serious matter of getting the NHL and players to come together to
fix a great sport, in which numerous franchises are losing money.
The 36 year-old hockey fan said creating the ribbons is a way to
publicly acknowledge hockey fans dissatisfaction of the NHL Players
Lockout. "Myself and countless others are frustrated that there has
been no NHL hockey so far this season," said Doug Sitler. "As always
with labor issues in professional sports, it is the fans that are
taken for granted. By using magnetic ribbons, this is my small way of
voicing the hockey fans' opinion."
