That man! With Brig in tow yet! What an example he's
setting for his kids! LOL! The story:

Coyotes' May subject of probe

Brad May

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He hit deputy, sheriff alleges

The Arizona Republic
Apr. 16, 2002

Coyotes left wing Brad May is the subject of a
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office investigation
following a scuffle with two deputies early Monday at
a Scottsdale nightclub.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said May, 30,
punched one deputy and wrestled with both after they
were called to inter- vene in an argument between May
and a bouncer at the Cat Eye Lounge, 7164 E. Stetson
Drive, at about 12:30 a.m.

May, who is preparing for the Coyotes' Wednesday night
first-round Stanley Cup playoff game against San Jose,
declined comment. Coyotes general manager Mike Barnett
said the organization was cooperating with the
Sheriff's department and will have no further comment
pending the conclusion of the investigation.

May is expected to accompany the team when it travels
today to San Jose and play in Wednesday's game.

The incident, which followed a 6-4 victory over the
Nashville Predators in the final game of the regular
season, occurred as May and his wife, Brigette, were
on their way out of the club. An argument apparently
began when May tried to help some friends, who were
lined up outside the club, gain admittance to a
Coyotes party on the patio.

Arpaio said the bouncer sought intervention from the
two deputies, who were moonlighting as security
officers and dressed in full uniform.

May, who is 6 feet 1 and weighs 217 pounds, hit one
deputy in the mouth, Arpaio said, then both deputies
joined the bouncer in wrestling May to the ground and
applying handcuffs.

Arpaio said the two deputies released May from custody
and allowed him to leave the business to defuse
tensions at the scene.

The case remains under investigation.
