It was perfect. I started a few rows up during
warm ups because I can get better angels that way with
the camera. However, there were these two guys in
front of me with signs for Roenick, which were blocking
my view. So...I finally gave up and moved down onto
the glass.<br><br>U2's "Desire" was playing. He
started skating by and saw the sweater colours first. He
looked up, saw me, and broke into the biggest smile!
LOL! Wide eyes and all. Tried to run over Doan and
evidently tried to blame it on me because I saw him
pointing in my direction as he appologized. Made another
lap around the ice and came over again to make sure
he'd seen right.<br><br>He's seen right. OMG -- LOL!
He was so jazzed! <br><br>So...we went through all
the warms up in the usual manner. He made sure I was
paying very close attention to him while he was trying
to be impressive, while I made sure I appeared to be
paying very close attention to him. (This was further
complicated by the fact that Todd had me under orders to get
photos of Luongo's helmet. I believe I covered all the
goalie helmets in full and vivid detail, including the
old Ridley mask that was on display out in the
concourse, which will go well in the book we're [Todd & I]
working on.)<br><br>In any case, the way the tunnels are
set up so, you come off the ice on your bench and go
straight into the tunnel. Or...you can go to the other
side of the bench, go in the other door, walk down the
length of the bench and go into the tunnel. Need I say,
he goes into the distant door, starts walking down
the length of the bench, stops in front of me and
puts his palm (yes, w/the glove on) up against the
glass. I put my own hand up against his on the other
side of the glass. He shoved a few times to make sure
there was glass in between us. There was,
unfortunately. LOL!<br><br>The Yotes jumped out to an early
lead, but darn it all, I've been to NCRC only twice
this season and both times Bure scored a hat trick.
The first time Esche was out of the net and down the
ice, the second, Bure beat him through the five hole
and the third, a corner deflection that Esche had no
chance on. Doan tied the game in the third, but it would
be our hero which, while trying not to take a
hooking penalty that would land the Cats a penalty shot,
failed to stop Adams who ended up scoring on the play.
Hence, Thunder Boy's -1 rating for tonight.
:(<br><br>It's okay. I'm still walking on air. (And after game
activities remain private, sorry!)<br><br>I believe I got
some great shots though, and will try to get them
scanned and posted this weekend.<br><br>Charm is defined
at the ability to make someone else feel they are
special. That man is doubly blessed with that talent. LOL!
