Browns

"A TV station sued the team after Cleveland said it
would break the station's contract to broadcast
preseason games and other programming. The Browns are
upset because the station aired a 911 call involving
the team owner's relatives."

On a more important note, it looks like the Steelers
will have three more draft picks left to sign after today.

Unfortunately for them, the consistency relates to
run-ins with the law, not production on the field.
While the bad press seems to have subsided for us, the
Bengals keep on rolling...

The arrest came about a week after Bengals owner Mike

I don't get it... all of the reports about Holmes on
draft day talked about how mature he is, how he had to
help his mother raise his siblings, etc.

I guess we shouldn't read too much into this. There
may be valid reasons he hasn't called Ben back, but it
is disconcerting. I really hope it's not just another
first-round pick who has an ego problem.

On another subject, I saw part of the Roethlisberger
interview on ESPN this morning. They showed the
Steelers' QB depth chart, which listed Ben, Batch,
and... Maddox. Did we re-sign him?? I didn't have the
sound on, so I guess (hope) they could have been
talking about last season.

Great minds think alike Ashly, f*** Flutie and that stupid drop kick!  IMO, the Steelers should have had 2 plays up for award, that El TD pass in the SB, and that one vs the Bungles in the playoffs.   Of course, the Randle El TD should have one.

I just saw on ESPN news too that a Bengals player has been suspended for 4 games next season? for a substance abuse violation. Well the Steelers have their issues, I can;t wait for BIG BEN to come back and lead
the black and gold to theri sixth SB triumph!!!  All while crushing the paper champions, Cincinnati Bengals, and their wussy QB, Carson Palmer.

My friend Harvey has noticed not a lot of publications our picking the Steelers to repeat. i think that is great! I love it when this team has a chip on their shoulder!!! One magazine he says, says the Steelers won;t even make the playoffs!!!!!

Hmmm, 2 weeks till training camp and a hot July day off here, I think I'll watch the TIVO of the beginning of the winning streak, vs da Bears in the snow!! LOL...Where the Bus runs over Brian Urlacher, or however you spell it.

Santonio's actions continue to concern me. A quote from Roethlisberger while
answering reporters at the golf tournament he's attending:

"I've reached out to Santonio, kind of like [Jerome Bettis] did to me."

"I gave him my numbers, told him to call me, and when he got into trouble, I
called him a bunch of time and left a bunch of messages for him, and he has
never called me back, so I don't know how to take it.

"If he wants me to help him and wants me to take him under my wing, I'll do
that, but it is his call, now, not mine. The ball is in his court, so to
speak, but I think he'll be OK and, hopefully, he'll get to camp and get his
head screwed on straight."

Sounds bad...really bad. If Santonio's not responding to his v. injured
quaterback's call (and Ben's willing to give Santonio a call just a week
after his horrendous accident), who will Santonio respond to. Scary, to say
the least.

(Whole article can be found at
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06195/705856-66.stm)

Also, I can't believe that Flutie won the ESPY for "GMC PROFESSIONAL GRADE
PLAY AWARD" for best play of the season. That stupid drop kick won him an
award? Was this really a better play that Randle El's superbowl touchdown?
Come on!!

I'm sure that you all have seen the ESPN interview by now...it's on ESPN's
homepage if you haven't. V. interesting...but I wish Ben hadn't used the "I
forgot" excuse for why he wasn't wearing a helmet. I think he kinda comes
across like an ass, but I'm sure that he was just defensive because of the
reporter's line of questioning. He looks good (although slimmer in his
face), but his voice is different...more nasal and a bit higher pitched or
something. It's good to see him back!

Also, very excited that the Steelers won the Best Team ESPY (and Cowher best
coach), but I think that Roethlisberger got robbed for the second year in a
row (last year, didn't win "best breakout performance"---really, come on,
and this year, lost to Alexander for "Best Record Breaking Performance"). Oh
well...what are you gonna do?

I think that the funniest line has to be this one:

"If he is, if all the physical skills and the
tantalizing potential that has the Steelers so
intoxicated turn Roethlisberger into the second coming
of Drew Bledsoe, the pick will be recognized years
from now for its brilliance."

If Ben turned into Drew Bledsoe, with all of his
timely interceptions, wouldn't that be a failure?

Good points about the Tigers. It's great to see Leyland doing so well. And
Detroit has been kind to the Steelers recently. :)

But while I've got nothing against Detroit right now (and I've got *plenty*
against the Pirates current ownership), I'm not going to go around rooting
for a non-'Burgh team. I just don't have it in me. Know what I mean?

OK Friends,

Time for a radical move.

Who's the "Burgh's favorite baseball manager of recent times?

What low budget team is he now managing, and leading them to the best
record in baseball?

The wealthy Red Sox have done their thing.

Now it's time for:

Pittsburgh Steeler Supporters for the Tigers - PSST

or

Pittsburgh Is Supporting the Tigers - PIST

Our great leader Tim may be convinced to ask Roggies to have Tiger
Sunday games on the other TV.

Who's with us??

...read this article from 2004-post draft. It gave me quite a chuckle. If
you're suffering from Steelers deprivation, as I currently am, maybe this
will satisfy your hunger. I'm not quite sure how I ended up on this article,
but I'm glad that I did. Could this guy have been any more wrong about
anyone that he names?
