Steelers draft   Message List

Hi all:

the Steelers have never traded up to draft somebody, but they did on
Saturday, trading up 11 spaces to get Troy Polamalu,S , from USC. I
am psyched about this pick, as well as about the other defensive picks
(although
Ivan taylor has only played 1 yr of cornerback). I think Jackson has
the size to be an effective OLB in our system. He was a DE in college
but word has it he will be an OLB. Others have made the move.Although
The Sporting News says" he will be more of a situational speed rusher
than an every-down player in the NFL".

I do not agree with the Brian St Pierre pick. Waht were the Steelers
thinking? IMO, he will be nothing more than another TEE Martin, Pete
Gonzalez, Mike Quinn. Why can;t we draft good qb's? I would have
picked Dave Ragone from Louisville.

JT Wall(7th round) seems to be the Bus' clone. 5-11,253,(although
bettis has supposedly lost 30 lbs). Can a FB drafted that late be
expected to make the team? We have some real depth at the rb,fb
spots now.
