I met a guy last year who works for for/with the Steelers for
Clearchannel on their radio advertising. He said the problem with
Hines is not the intentions but a fear about his style of play and
age (ie. Hines plays tough and the fear is the years of hard play
will catch-up with him quickly as he ages).
I'm hoping that the sticking points have more to do with contract
length and guaranteed money over the life of the deal than with the
signing bonus. My opinion remains that Hines deserves his money but
I could see the Steelers holding tough to keep the cap hit lower on
a new contract in later years.
Finally back in Boston after a couple years and looking forward to
seeing everyone in a few weeks.
