Hello fellow club-mates!I'm a die-hard Boris fan
from India. For a long time I've been trying to find a
club like this.I thank the founders sincerely. The club
is really cool!Hope to make friends with you all
soon.Bye for now.<br>Luv tulips.<br>Long Live the
fraternity of Boris Becker!
Thank you for your reply BoomBoomLover. I
absoultely agree with you about the play of Becker at the
net and this is the reason why I love to watch him
playing - then watching Sampras. Becker is emotional and
with passion. On the other hand, Sampras is very
control of the emotion and make him playing consistent.
They both have their pros and cons. However, Watching
Becker's play is surely more interesting, I agree.
I think they're both excellent grass court
players, but Boris really plays with more passion than
Sampras, and he's more interesting to watch. At Wimbledon,
you just see Pete relying on his serve, but not
really going all out for points at the net.
Sampras is the greatest player, that's no doubt.
See how he beat agassi in the atp championship. How
you consider if Becker is playing with Sampras. What
do you think Becker has stronger than Pete. His
style? Becker seems losing confidence playing against
Pete? Do you think? If it was a younger Becker, I think
he would beat Sampras, with his confidence on the
net.
Hey, Everyone. I just wanted to annouce that the
Boris Becker Club has a new co-founder, Mumingo from
Denmark. She had started her own Yahoo Becker club, so we
decided to join forces! Welcome, Mumingo!
I recently read a newspaper blurb about Boris
Becker's desire to get into acting. He is currently
looking for the right role. Boris might be great in the
movies. What type of role could you see him play?
Any wood tennis racket players/collectors,<br>If
so I invite you to join the following club
:<br><a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/classicwoodtennis
target=new>http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/classicwoodtennis</a><br>Please post
what rackets you like playing or collecting.
Did Boris play wood before the Estuza ? The last wood
racket I played was the Prince Woodie and before that I
used Borg donnays & bancrofts. I also used Wilson
kramers & prostaffs. Joe
I think all you people will agree with
this.Though many players have won more than he has, there
cannot be a question as to the fact that he was the most
charismatic player of all time.Thats why i think that Boris
is the greatest ever. And as a small note friends,I
met Boris when he came to India to play the Goldflake
Open. Then I realized why people keep talking about his
stage presence.I always believed I was his luckiest
fan!
You're right...Edberg and Becker were a great
rivalry to watch! It's too bad there isn't a cable Tennis
channel that could air some of these old matches. My
favorite part of this year's Wimbledon coverage on HBO was
when there was a rain delay and they aired classic
matches (including Becker's first Wimbledon win)! Tennis
is not as exciting to watch anymore.
I aggree that Boris has the best game for
grass.<br>Pete is stays back much more and relies on
his'<br>server. Becker was much more aggressive, always<br>coming
to the net. I also really liked Stephon Edbergs
serve/volley game. He was really smooth & fast. Love watching
him against Boris.<br>Most of todays stars are sorta
boring since they stay at the baseline and rely on power
hitting.<br>Joe
Welcome to the club, Joe. I think it's great that
you try to emulate Becker's game. I know that Pete
has won more Wimbledon titles, but I think Boris is
still the king of that tournament. No one else has a
better serve and volley style on grass.
It looks like Yahoo is way behind in updating
their club listings right now, so this club cannot yet
be found in the search directory. So please make use
of the "Invite" Member Tool if you know of other
Boris fans who might want to join this club. Once we
get a few more members, perhaps we could schedule a
chat!
Pinky... I'm glad there are other Boris fans out
there in webland. We are all Becker's greatest fans!
:-) I too was very sad when he lost at Wimbledon. I
thought he'd been playing well enough to make it through
to the finals this year!
I claim to be his greatest fan but i think there
are other people like u guys who created fan club for
him.i would love to see him back in wimbeldon.i was so
upset when he lost wimbeldon.he was not only good
player but nice person too.i have visited all his
website and was always eager to learn more about him.
I wonder whether he'll change his mind, or be too
concerned about getting all of the flack again for going
back on his word. I wish he wouldn't make such
definite and final decisions about his retirement...and
leave it a little more open! (His fans would like a
glimmer of hope that he might return!)<br>Anyway, he's
not that old. He doesn't need to stop playing yet!
Do you think that this years Wimbledon was
definitely his last ever. He said it before and went through
all the goodbyes and then came back again. Do you
think he'll do the same again. I hope he does! He's so
great to watch.
Welcome, Members--Thanks for joining!<br><br>What
do you think about Boris retiring? Do you think he
could stay competitive if he kept playing? I think he
had a great run at the last Wimbledon, and would have
beat Rafter if he'd had a better serving day. He could
beat any player at Wimbledon...even Sampras, I think!
This is a brand new club. I have recently sent
out many invitation to those who may have an interest
in Boris Becker or Tennis. Any comments or
suggestions? Please post a message with your thoughts...add a
link or a photo!<br><br>Boris Becker is the greatest,
and I hate to see him retire. Is there any chance
he'll change his mind? What do you think?
It's about time that Boris Becker had a Fan Club in Yahoo! Please feel free to
join, and invite others as well. We can discuss all Tennis-related topics!
