yesterday I up loaded a couple photos in the Bear Boomerang Photo
Album of a boomerang I have been working on for a while. The hold up
was that I wanted to 'get-it-right' and do some research on how to
proplery inlay 'stuff' in a boomerang. After a lot of good
suggestions I came up with useing a router bit in the dripp press. 2
people are required for this project.
While one holds the press down the other moves the boomerang on the
table and useing the back support arm of the drill as a stablizor
just about anything can be done.
now all I have to do is more of them and get better at it. This one
is my first attempt at anything like this. so you will see some
imprefections in the mounting.
The Alaskan Jade was given to me as a gift to inspire me to do more
than use copper wire to hide my glue marks and such on lap joints.
THANKS PAT.
The wood is Oak, Cherry and Walnut. The design is just something I
threw together in one of the forms I like. I made it extra long and
at the last 3 inchs of each arm they are both tweaked out, but only a
few almost unnoticable degrees (long story there).
glue: Ace Hardware 6 min. gell. Epox.
range: Will let you know. Test flight before jade was 35 yards
approx.
class: just for FUN. Rec.

Hi Guys!
Krypto is Daniel from Oklahoma, a new friend of mine. Daniel,
sorry to hear you broke a boom. I recently tried something new with
the micro. First of all, the best way to tune a boom is by using steam
http://whishhbone.com/stmr.html There are a number of ways to do this
(tea kettle, etc.) but it generally takes longer than microwaving. So
I combined the two methods. I ran the boom under the faucet just to
wet both sides of it and then quickly shook off the extra water. Then
I put it in the micro for 21 seconds. It came out steamy and softened
but not too hot to handle. Then with a spring clamp I clamped it to a
plate or placed it between my concrete tuning dishes
http://whishhbone.com/tdish.html They tuned nicely. These are tricks I
don't often talk about, especially the dish tuning because it's not my
trick. I like what you're doing Daniel and I wish you best :)
Cheers!

Hi Dave!
Nice paint work. I'm not much of a painter but I'm looking for a
way to do it without adding too much weight to a boom. And something
that's fast too. I might give sponge painting a try. The first two
look really nice!
Cheers!

I saw this posted in the USBA group.
---------------------------------------
Good day everyone. Since no one else has posted this I am going to
do so myself:
On Saturday February 23, 2008 at the Tucson Arizona Boomerang
Tournament Betsylew Miale-Gix set a new unlimited MTA world record
of 3:49:82.
Timers were Daniel Bower, Eric Darnell, Tom Wythes. Tournament
Director Don Monroe.
This was one of those magic moments we all dream of where the right
throw and the right conditions came together for a wonderful throw
that was only about 30 meters out (and well within the field had
this been SuperCatch J) There were surprisingly few thermals for a
desert tourney but this one was special as the boom went up but did
not run. Special thanks to the timers who stayed with the throw
and Daniel Bower who reminded me repeatedly to just catch it!
Fair winds and blue skies everyone.

Sunday, John (aka Bubba or Yogi) was let go and signed our from
hospital care and sent home.
He was snubbed by Zippy Cat only coz that's the way catzz are. They
can't wait till you get home only to give you attitude for being
gone.
only 10% or less damage to his heart muscle and the three shunts I
had mentioned in earlier post, was what the Dr's there considered
very good.
Dana did mention something that we might all think about. What if,
God for bid, one of us drops. How will our cyber friends know of any
news good, bad, or pending.
I have been on line 13 years and 80% of that time was in chat.
Yahoo, Msn, Irc and Mric, ISPQ web cam to name a few. I knew long
ago that this would happen, because I had been in this spot before.
I learned then that my cyber friends are just as valued as my real
life friends, some even more.
I taught John how to use my computer and where my address book is,
where my yahoo list is and other important documents I have on file
here. John had no interest in computer for years. But he knew how to
send out e-mail and who is who in my address book. Almost all
address books will have room in there for notations.
Now he has his own computer and he has his address books and lists
now. I knew right where to find anything I in needed over this past
weekend and during the whole ordeal. Contacting his X-wife and
children was a snap. The rest of the family was just a click away as
well.
one more thing to think about DNR's
I have one in my boom bag, one in my kung fu equipment bag, one in
my car, and one at the local hospital.
Again, THANKS

style the looked like "sponge art" to me. Most of the time it is used
for background work. I had a few boomerangs that needed paint so tried
out my own technique. The photos include: a traditional by Rob
Stewart, a Alberto Sabal desing called the Snake and a boomerang I
call the Manta (looks like a Skippy)all of which I added sponge & dot
art to. I also added front and back photos of a reversible boomerang
which I used two different sponge art patterns.
The sponge are it done with three colors over a base color. The added
colors are put on using a piece of natural sponge.
The photos are in the BoomerangDave album.

That's great David! We didn't know if it were you or someone else and it looks like everyone is going to be ok so we are relieved. I was thinking of how we were going to find out anything if you didn't let us know and was close to calling around at different hospitals so it was great you let us know.
Rest well!

dude. Who knows, maybe YOU can win a National Beach
Boomerang Championship event! We can talk about it

Yoshi was the guy who won the Japanese Nationals after
spending a few month's at Gary Broadbent's - right.
That says it all right there. From the looks of his
son Logan at the 2007 US Nationals I think Gary has
another national champion taking place there also.
Logan has all the tools to take the crown if he wants
it bad enough and has time to practice.
What a terrific young man also. He was very
impressive. It's great to see kids come up with such
class and dignity. I liked the politeness and the
charity tshirt he had on. How many kids have a social
awareness now? It was very cool to see him represent
the sport so well.
It looks like Dave H. is doing a travelogue and he can
find a boomerang anywhere. I really enjoyed reading
about his trip to Australia a few years ago.
Updated boomerangs.tv a little a few minutes ago with
3 Long Distance boomerang videos. Just exposed another
friend to "An Inconvenient Truth" earlier tonight.
It's been a good day.
