yesterday I wrote to the USO about getting Boomerangs in the hands of our
troops over seas for sport and entertainment. here is the response I got:
------------
Rev. Fantone,
Thank you for your inquiry. Can you tell me how many that you have? I
may be able to distribute them for you to our troops in Iraq,
Afghanistan and Kuwait.
Thank you very much for your support and I look forward to hearing from
you.

I has seen a report on the news about our speci al forces over there ( Iraq) playing
soccer with the locals and they were getting there behinds beat. soccer is
their national sport and the locals had the home court advantage.
I figured here is a chance where the boomerang community could get out and
maybe get some international exposure as well as doing something for others. I'm not sure how this will work, but I figured, "it's all good".
above is the response I got from the USO. right now I haven't any
details, I think we may make them up a we go along or as advised. the
bottom line is I / we are looking for donations of boomerangs. new or
used. they should be a beginners type of boomerang. the more donations we
get the more our chances of getting noticed. I ' m also requesting any CD
or DVD's with instructional or how to materials on them we can pass along
as well. any instructional hard copies on paper will help as well.
right now I am not sure if they want us to send everything to the USO
address or what. I think it will depend on just how many boomerangs and materials we have to send. Juston is waiting to hear back from me as to 'how many' we will have to ship.
if you wish to donate anything to this cause, please contact me as soon as
possible with a number or list of what you have in mind in donating.
these are your troops, defending your right to FLY.
