I am sorry for your loss.  I assume you got this group reference from your son's Yahoo account.  As far as I know, there is no record of any behavioural changes from use of creatine.  Perhaps some group members with medical research or other specialised knowledge on the subject can comment on this.  However, there is some thought that use of steroids may cause exactly the kind of behavioural changes you describe in some people.  There is a term for it: "roid rage."   Whether or not there is a possible causal relationship between steroids and behavioural changes is disputed and perhaps not proven, but it does make some sense.  Steroids in some ways have similar effects to testesterone, the prescence of which may have a connection to male aggressiveness.  Some bodybuilders use testesterone itself as well.  And of course two things happening at the same time does not in any conclusive way establish a causal link, and less so if no mechanism can be suggested.  Furthermore, your son probably started using other supplements, higher protein intake, etc. at around the same time as starting to use creatine.  However, I don't think there is any evidence that there are any other particularly likely culprits associated with bodybuilding other than possibly steroids or testosterone.  Again, perhaps other group members might have helpful comments. --- On Fri, 4/17/09, judy_cournoyer <judy_cournoyer@ yahoo.com> wrote: From: judy_cournoyer <judy_cournoyer@ yahoo.com> Subject: [Bodybuilding for Men] creatine and my son's death To: bodybuildingformen@ yahoogroups. com Date: Friday, April 17, 2009, 5:09 AM I am the mother of a 29 year old son who just lost his life because of creatine use. PLEASE heed this warning. Creatine can cause psychosis. When he started using this supplement we noticed a change in his personality. He became more aggressive. Eventually he became paranoid, could not sleep, and eventually met a very violent death going over 100 mph down a highway because "some people were after him". This supplement is NOT good for you, people. My son had his whole life ahead of him, and now he is gone. While it may occur "naturally" in the body, the dosage you ingest is NOT normal. The body secretes creatinine for a reason. It's toxic.
