2. The Japan Sport Fukiya Association is proud to announce that the
Tokyo Kase University now has added competition sport blowgunning to
their programs - becoming the 2nd college in Japan to do so, and the
3rd in the world.
(Collegiate participation is the future of the Olympic sport we are
trying to get recognition for in the 2016 games! All blowgunners (IFA
affiliates or not) are encouraged to promote the sport with their
local colleges and universities. Helpful information can be obtained
from the NSBA webmaster.)
3. You've heard that blowguns are illegal in certain areas? Get the
details. Things are not that cut-n-dried!
#9 on the NSBA website FAQ page has links to legislature affecting
blowgunners. Be sure to check your local laws out if you are not
sure. There is also a list of bad news (negative publicity) articles
found on the web - the NSBA encourages ALL blowgunners (IFA
affiliates or not) to work towards eliminating these types of
activities in their area, by promoting the safety and proper handling
of blowguns. You are encouraged to contact us for details on how you
can help keep our sport out of negative publicity in the headlines.

4. Local NSBA chapters are reminded that they need to hold at least
one Point competition annually. Please notify the NSBA at least 6
weeks in advance of your date/time/location. Details will be
published on the NSBA website, so interested participants can sign up
and compete.
5. Plans for a "World Cup" competition are now in the works for
2008. There are now 12 International Fukiyado Association (IFA)
affiliated national organizations. We hope to have 75 or more
national affiliates by the time the World Cup is held. If you are
from a non-affiliated country and want to start up an affiliated
national organization (excluding Canada - sorry, it is still illegal
to have blowguns there!), contact the NSBA wesmaster for information.
