On a recent Wed. evening ride, the topic of discussion was how to relieve cramps
while riding! Mustard was the answer. My research says that mustard is an
inflammatory. That means it may help with relieving cramps; but will not help
lighting your charcoal grille. So, I thought I would call up this Heinz guy in
Pittsburgh to find out what this stuff does.
It seems no one was home and the message said call back in the fall. I didn't
know his last name was Field! So, I did the research myself.
On a 60 mile evening ride, I lathered up my legs with mustard to see if I would
cramp. Well just down the block, every dog in the neighborhood chased me
including a wiener dog.
Now I went to Wal Mart and bought one of those delux home enema kits. Well you
know the results, I had mustard on my buns!
I rigged my camel pak with the squirt plunger on the hose and loaded up the
bladder with mustard. No luck there, every time I squeezed the plunger; I hit a
bump and ended up with the yellow jersey for the ride!
I'm going to the Barbarian Hall to see if that Jack Daniels fellow is in. He
makes mustard and some other tonic that may help with cramps. Doc John, CCR
