The URL did not link to the download site for the SportTracks program. This one
should work. If not copy/paste.

Dennis:

I still have those old (not that old) bike racing magazines with TONS of
training and strategy advice if you want to take them to Kinko's to copy them.
There is a year's worth of monthly issues-the only year it ran and then went
oob. Just in case.

Also, FYI everyone, there will be a sanctioned stage race next year with a road
race starting from Adventures Unlimited.  I expect about 10K in prize money.
More info to come in the near future.  We will have the Fenner Ride also later
in the year.

I'm posting this message for those who may be interested in a free training
analysis program. I copied the following section of the Road Bike Ride weekly
news letter and it provides a good explanation of what it's about and the link
to download the program. It has some cool features and the mapping applications
are very good.

SportTracks: Free & Fabulous

RBR contributor Joshua Cohen PT, MS is an analytical kind of guy. That's what
makes him one of our best product reviewers, and it paid-off big time when he
researched and wrote his eBook, Finding the Perfect Bicycle Seat.

Josh has gotten excited about an internet-based product that all you Garmin Edge
GPS users might like too. He sent this short report:

"Getting weary of high-priced bicycle gadgets that some reviewer says you just
gotta have? SportTracks is one of the best sports logs I've found -- and it's
entirely free!

"SportTracks is a GPS-enabled logbook program that works on Windows and has a
beta Linux version. It offers direct uploading from Garmin devices and can
display your route map along with elevation and all of the other data your
Garmin collects.

"In addition, it works for any sport, displays numerous graphs of your progress,
tracks your equipment, weight and health patterns, and (my favorite)
automatically recognizes and categorizes your routes."

As for the user interface, Josh explains that it's different than the standard
Windows top-of-screen layout because the main control menu is in the lower left.
But he says once you get used to that, using SportTracks is pretty intuitive.

"I've tested other logbook-style programs that cost real money but don't offer
near what SportTracks does," Josh says. "It's definitely worth trying if you use
a Garmin GPS cyclecomputer. "

At RBR we've said that a training log can be one of your most valuable tools for
improvement. Now a good one is more than affordable -- it's free. You can do the
download at: http://tinyurl. com/ykkgkof

I'm looking for a riding partner for Friday morning leaving around 8:00 - 8:30am
from the trailhead. I would like to ride around 55 miles, but that's not set in
stone. Most of you that know me are aware the pace won't be fast - around 17mph
+-. If you are interested, let me know the starting time you prefer, and we'll
plan from there.

Dennis

I may join you for that. I will let you know closer to Friday, and yes, I do
realize it will not be a fast ride.

Yea, I'll be there. Probably end up doing the 20-mile option. Unless anyone is
interested in doing the 50-mile team option.
