I have used or still use several kind of bridles, i am also a BBAC of the BB in the Netherlands.
My advise is try to find several bridles which you can try for a few days. So you can find out what your horse like and what fits by you two together. Not every horse does react the same.
I know horses who like the Cook and dislike the sidepull and otherwise. It depents....
My horses like the Cook very much with riding and driving aswell.
I know that the Cook have a trail fro 30 days if you don't like it you can send it back, only costs you have is transport.
So find some one near you and ask for it. Many people and horses ofcourse are very happy with this bridle.
The Cook bridles are copied by several people the differences between them are the making off and de size of the noserings were the cross under passed through if you understand what i mean. Some of them can you use in both ways as a sidepull a cross under or even with a bit. The only way is try it for yourself and see whats fits the best for both of you

I own a Dr. Cooks and I (and my horse) really like it; I don't have any experience w/the other bitlesses that are out there. I don't think you can go wrong w/a Dr. Cooks :-)

Hi Everyone!
I am new to this group. I live in Eastern NC (Greenville) and have been riding for about 10 years. I own a 7 year old arabian gelding that I would like to switch over to bitless but am not sure what type of bitless is best to go with. I have tried a side pull on Gus (my gelding) with some success. He does seem more relaxed without a bit. I'm sure part of that is because when I get nervous I tend to get a little stronger with my hands. I'm working on my fear issues and they are not related to my horse in particular, just a response from some past experiences that I am trying to get over. The side pull doesn't seem to give me quite enough control except for turning though it is great for short trail rides around the barn. I tried an S hackamore and found that while more horse still likes it better than a bit most of the time, he throws his head up when I ask for whoa with both reins and with a one rein stop.
I've read through the website on the dr. cooks bridle and it sounds like a wonderful piece of equipment. I've also noticed that some other endurance tack companies make similar bridles and was wondering what the differences are. I want to try out one of these types of bridles on my horse as I think I may be just what we both need. I can stay out of his mouth and learn that I don't have to have super tight reins to have control. My thing is, I really like that with the other companies, you can get say a black beta bridle with a different color overlay. However, I want to make sure that the bridle I spend my money on, is actually doing the job it was meant to do. Does anyone have any experience with the other companies? I know hought tack is one that makes a similar bridle.
Thanks so much. I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say.
Karen L.
