I also use clintons methods...i have ridden my mare in his halter quite alot so the transition didnt take very long....becuz of the crossover under the jaw in the bitless (leather) it took her a little time to figure out the different pressure.....so i went back a few steps, practiced things at the walk, then trot etc....i can do lateral flexing in the bitless now....deb z

Subject: [bitlessbridle] training with the bitless bridle
Hi, there. I have a 5 yr old mare that I have been riding in the
bitless bridle. I was wondering if when doing training (I like to do
the training excercises that Clinton Anderson teaches) Do you treat the
bitless bridle just like a bitted bridle? Do you get basically the same
results? My mare is a little headstrong when I ride her on the trails
with other horses, so I've been doing the bending and flexing
excercises that Clinton teaches.
