Re: Bitless, Hilason, and Barefoot

Hi Aeron,

I've seen an old-timer (horse) do the same thing. Took him some getting
used to and just a 'feel' of taking up the reins to stop him. Taking
back the reins to 'whoa' completely blocked his head more than he
liked. With any horse, as stated in the manual, best to long-rein or at
least lunge with the bridle to get the horse used to the new sensation.
A good seat counts for a lot, too.

The other problem I came across was an Arabian mare that just needed to
have her teeth floated. They were so sharp and uneven, her cheeks were
irritated. The pressure of the bridle was not appreciated. Once her
teeth were fixed up and she healed, she was fine.

If you try the BB again, even though you do fine with the rope halter,
pls let us know how it goes.

Michael
