Hi, all:

Here's my first post as moderator of this group. See
http://seattleeasyriders.net for my first cycling gig.

I'm out of cycling-commission for another few weeks while my hand
heals from two tendon surgeries (ouch!).

So here's some stuff to keep you busy in the meantime. I'll post to
the calendar ASAP. And please: You do the same!

APRIL 5! SPOKESPEOPLE kids and beginner/returning riders (separate
groups, methinks): Learn to ride on the road, or just gain confidence
the first Saturday of each month! Skills taught. Experts welcome.
Date: Saturday, April 5
Time: 2-4 p.m.
Starting point: Wallingford Park, 4219 Wallingford Ave. N.
Distance: 0.5-3+ miles (different groups, I'm pretty sure)
Pace: Easy or beginner
Surface: On road--PERFECT OPP TO GAIN SKILLS CONFIDENCE ROAD RIDING!
Hills? Probably minimal

North End Multidistance Trail Ride: A ride to get back into biking
after skiing, snow shoeing, or maybe doing neither this winter.
Date: Saturday, April 5
Time:10 a.m.

far they wish to ride. (Of course, you could turn back at any time
since we use the same route out and back.)

27th Annual Tulip Pedal ($20): Tulip Pedal will again offer two rides:
a 20-mile course around the tulip fields between Mount Vernon and La
Conner, and a 40-mile course that will begin and end near the tulip
fields.

Starting point: La Conner Middle/High School complex
Distance: 20 miles or 40 miles (two rides)

Cyclefest at Southcenter REI! With local clubs, mechanics, and bicycle
vendors on-hand, you will learn about the local ways to get plugged
into cycling and the gear & info needed to be prepared and have a good
time! Sweepstakes for major cycling goodies. Bill Thorness the author
of "Biking Puget Sound: 50 Rides from Olympia to the San Juans" will
be discussing his book and signing copies from 2-4pm.

There will also be handouts and information on Cascade Bicycle
Club's three premium training programs: the Cascade Training Series
(CTS), Cascade Advanced Training series (CATS), and the High
Performance Cycling (HPC), all of which kick into high gear in April
